Praise to You, O Lord

Praise to You, O Lord, for it is through You that I’ve been called from death into newness of life.  As My Redeemer, You have set me free from slavery to sin and death and given me the ability to walk in the liberty of Your light.  You are the Living Word who has come to share Your wisdom with me and show me a better way.  It is in the light of Your Word that I am guided out of darkness and ignorance.  It is You who helps me through my toughest times and the struggles I must endure.  Because You assist me with gladness and faithfulness, I can rejoice in my abundance.  You are The One who the world has longed for since the beginning of time, but The Enemy has worked overtime to blind as many as possible into believing that they are “gods” who need to be served.  Help me never lose sight of the fact that You alone are the Lord of Lords and You alone are worthy of my praise.

I am overjoyed by the fact that You speak to me each day … not in a loud, booming voice, but in a small, soft voice from within encouraging me and giving me hope and direction.  Under Your continuing guidance, I have the hope of a bright future and a prosperous life.  Your calling is for me to submit my life to Your leadership and become a willing and obedient servant.  I am able to live as an overcomer because Your love, kindness, hope and grace sustain me.  I am able to rest in peace knowing that, when You came in the flesh to live among Your people, You became a Perfect Advocate for me with Your Father.  You are an awesome God who is my perfect example of love, patience, compassion and kindness … even when I do not deserve it.  How great it is to know You and think about being seated at Your banqueting table in Heaven.

It is You who binds and unites us as one community.  Your desire for us is to drop our differences and focus on our commonality.  Therefore, I must learn how to love as You love … to forgive as You forgive … to spread hope in place of hopelessness … to turn from selfishness to selflessness … and, to become an overcomer rather than one who succumbs.  You have shown me over the ages the many gifts You have bestowed among Your people … the miracles You’ve performed to overcome their adversity … and, the works You’ve done to improve their lives.  In my hunger and thirst for righteousness, You are my guiding light and source of all good things.  To gain the world and lose my soul would be no victory at all.  So, instead, I pledge my life to You and freely give You all of my praise.  And it’s in Jesus’ name I pray.  AMEN!!

Psalm 52:9 I will praise You forever for what You have done; in Your name I will hope, for Your name is good.  I will praise You in the presence of Your saints.
