O Benevolent and Caring God, Your desire has always been for me to prosper and live in the fullness of Your promises. You knew I could not accomplish that task alone and that’s why you sent me the Holy Spirit. You declared His importance in my life when You said “I will ask the Father and He will give you another Counselor to be with you … and although you cannot see Him … He will live with you and be with you.” Your promise was that the power of the Holy Spirit would be made manifest in His care for me and His guidance on how to live. His role is to assist me in living the way You want and to use me in building up His church. As I allow the Holy Spirit to work in me, I will be taught the things I need to know to mature and be successful. He will remind me of the truths You have shared with me from Your Word so I can apply them in my life. He will also dispense Your peace so that my heart will no longer be troubled by adversity or paralyzed by fear.
I know that as the Holy Spirit fills my life with grace, He will also fill me with a desire to know You more intimately and will shine light on the truths I am to use to enrich my life. Through His anointing, I will learn and act on not only the letter of the law but the spirit in Your words. Because He is an active participant with me, I am encouraged, assisted and strengthened for my journey on the earth. As the “Spirit of Truth”, He will teach, illustrate and demonstrate how to apply Your Word in the furtherance of Your Kingdom. Through the ministry of the Spirit, I will be convicted of my sins and guided into true contrition for them. He will instill in me the values needed to lead a righteous life … the character necessary to withstand temptation … and, the conviction to turn from selfish self-service to unselfish service to others. I am truly blessed to have Your Spirit with me each day showing me how to navigate the mazes of my life.
O Precious Jesus, send Your Spirit to breath into me a joy the is undeniable, a faith that is unshakeable and a love that emulates Yours. It is Your Spirit, as He walks with me daily, who makes hope abound in my heart and illuminates my mind so I can see the sound doctrine on which I am to base my choices. Fill my life with more of Him so I can be trained to be more like You. Send Him to dwell in my heart so that, by His indwelling, I can be shown how to change my life for the better. In the freedom and power of the Holy Ghost, I will learn to soar on eagles wings above my difficulties and trials … not allowing them to overpower me, rather giving me the power to overcome them. Each day my heart yearns for You to send me Your Spirit because I need him so much. And it’s in Jesus’ name I pray. AMEN!!
