Praise be to You O Glorious and Majestic King, for no one speaks with the power and conviction that You do. You said “come forth” and the dead were given new life … You said “rise up and walk” and the lame stood up and walked … You said “go wash” and the unclean were made whole … and, You spoke and all of creation was given life. I stand in awe at the power of Your words, the wisdom imbedded in Your thoughts and the love I see personified in Your actions. In Your words I can find the power of life and not death … blessing and not cursing … encouragement and not rebuke. Your words are spoken in truth and are meant to teach and help me grow. Because of Your love, I find You continually reaching out to me with words of strength and conviction … comfort and rest … peace and composure … protection and shelter.
No one speaks with the comfort of Your voice. As my Shepherd, You care for my needs, take me to places where I can rest from my labors and keep me out of the way of danger. When I am in pain and filled with confusion, Your words soothe me, comfort me and make me feel safe. You spoke words of encouragement to me when you said “my peace I leave you … my peace I give you … not as the world gives… but a peace that comes down to You from the Throne of The Most High.” As a bridegroom woos his bride, so You invite me to come closer to You where I can put my head on Your shoulder and feel You tenderly wipe away all of my cares. You are my constant companion and I rejoice when I hear You whispering soft, comforting words that touch my soul and inspire me to be more like You.
No one speaks with the clarity of Your voice. You speak words that bring light into my life so I can see more clearly the way You want me to go. You speak words that fortify me and give strength to my soul. You speak words of life and, as a result, I find mine flourishing, prospering and filled with hope and promise. The words You speak make me feel whole and complete. I never tire of hearing You share Your truths with me, even when it appears I may not be listening to You … because Your words are more vital to my life than food or drink. Speak to me of Your love and my heart will listen … speak to me of hope and my inner man will be uplifted … speak to me of life and my whole being will become energized. Speak and I will listen to hear all of the things You want to share with me. And it’s in Jesus’ name I pray. AMEN!!
