Speak to Me Lord

Magnificent King, You rule the earth by the very power of Your words.  You are perfect and marvelous to behold … Therefore, when You speak, I will be silent and listen.  In Your presence, I will let Your goodness radiate through my whole being.  I know that within Yourself resides all power and might.  In Your righteousness, You judge fairly and chastise fools.  You have consecrated me through the offering of Your own blood.  You have kept Your covenant with me even when I could not keep up my end of our agreement.  How merciful You are to allow me to start over fresh every day.

Speak to me, My Lord, and I will be silent and listen.  Show me the errors of my way and I begin to work on correcting them.  Teach me the things that will make straight my path and I will respond.  I know You expect more form me than vain promises … You want me to walk by faith and not by sight.  You do not accept praise from those with impure hearts and devious ways.  But You do accept even the smallest of offerings when they are offered up by a humble and sincere heart.  I realize what I give to You I am only giving back what is already Yours.  Why then am I so selfish?  Remove all selfishness and covetousness from me so that my life might become a beacon for those lost in darkness.  I know that the praise and gratitude You desire must come from a heart of “true” thankfulness.  Help me watch for Your goodness as it is expressed in every aspect of my life.  Help me to recognize Your involvement in my life when I’m rescued from bad judgment, when I find peace after doing something unselfish and when Your love makes me feel content and grateful.

Keep me from rejecting Your words of instruction.  Speak to me and I will be silent and listen.  I never want to join forces with evil men or the enemy of my soul.  My desire is for the words of my mouth and the meditations of my heart to be acceptable to You always.  You are pure and You have called me to be pure … You are holy and righteous and You have called me to be the same.  I never want to lose touch with You and be separated from You love.  I am striving to love, trust and honor You in all that I do.  I appreciate and give thanks for all that You’ve done … are doing … and, will do in my life.  With a glad and contrite heart, I offer You the praise and honor only You deserve.  I want to be free to walk in the liberty that Your death on the cross earned for me.  When You speak, I want to hear with ears that hear … and, when You do wondrous works, I want to see them with eyes that see.  In silence I wait, speak to me, My Lord.  And it’s in Jesus’ name I pray.  AMEN!!

John 6:68 “Lord to whom shall we go?  You have the words of life.”
