The Joy of Belonging to You

My Cherished King, I consider the things of the earth worthless when compared to the bounty I’ve found in You.  The only righteousness that I possess comes directly from the faith I have in You.  My greatest desire is to know You more so I can lock into Your power and overcome sin and evil.  I want to become like You in every way and experience the joy of spending eternity with You.  When I face obstacles to my faith, I press on knowing You will be there to help me overcome them.  To move my life forward, I must forget and leave behind my failings and strive to fulfill the calling You have on my life right now.  To succeed, I must follow Your example and take note of those brethren who walk in Your wisdom.  Those who mind earthly things are enemies of Your cross, but those who mind eternal things are Your friends.  Each day I will patiently await Your peace to guard my heart and mind.

I will strive to put the instructions I get from You into practice so I can achieve the goals You’ve set out for me.  I deeply appreciate Your involvement in helping to bear my burdens so I can achieve positive outcomes.  You not only have concern for me, but You take every opportunity to show it.  One of Your lessons that I’ve learned is to be content in whatever circumstances I find myself.  Knowing that You are in control of all things and are willing to stand by me, makes this lesson easier to master.  If I find my way hard, I know that if I persevere through the situation You will infuse me with Your strength to overcome.  I must never forget that when I give my time, talents and resources to help another, I’m really giving them to You.  Being close to You has given me confidence to tackle whatever life throws at me … however, to come out on top, I must keep my focus on You.

I am learning to be positive and joyful as I look at things through Your eyes.  By doing that I’m able to focus on what I’m supposed to be doing and not what I feel like doing.  Seeing circumstances through Your eyes and committing to do as You instruct helps me screen out nonessentials and concentrate on what You want.  When I desire for more or better things, in actuality, I am longing to fill the emptiness in my life.  Real purpose comes from understanding Your perspective and priorities.  The power I receive from our relationship is sufficient to help me do Your will and face the challenges that come into my life.  As my faith matures, I am better prepared to address the troubles, pressures and trials that surely will enter in.  As our relationship and my faith in You deepens, it adds meaning and joy to my life.  And it’s in Jesus’ name I pray.  AMEN!!

Psalm 62:11-12 One thing God has spoken, two things I have heard; that You, O God, are strong, and that You, O Lord, are loving.  Surely You will reward each person according to what he has done.
