I praise You, O Lord of Light, for it is You who appoints the sun to shine each day … who declares to the moon and stars that they should glimmer each night … and, who stirs up the oceans to make the waves come rolling up to the shore. It is You alone who created the earth and everything in it. It is You who sent The Word to dwell among us and shine forth a light to guide us and bring about our redemption. Teach me to love and cherish Your Word as much as I cherish You … for You and Your Word are one. Your Word is a gift given to me to show me the way to an abundant life, unconditional love and abounding joy. Help me realize that Your words are more valuable than silver and gold or even the very air that I breath because they sustain my soul which is eternal. Show me Your Word is not a task master sent to enslave my free will but, instead, is the key that unlocks the riches of Heaven.
Often I come to You for answers regarding my spiritual and life issues. Teach me how to delve into the depths of Your heart through the wisdom contained in Your Word. I need to learn how to do this because I often find myself roughed up and frustrated by life and confused by circumstances. At those times, help me put into effect Your words which act as buffers and a way to safety. When my actions stifle my growth and I feel pressures to make decisions I’m uncomfortable making, lead me to a place of calmness and rest where I can make good choices. I treasure our friendship and I thrive in the wisdom of Your words.
I am so thankful that You’ve not only told me what I should do, but You’ve come down to be with me and show me how I am to live. If I follow in Your footsteps, I know that my life will be vibrant and filled with abundance. Help me realize that Your Word is a treasure chest full of blessings and favor … cautions and instructions … love and compassion. Though I live between Heaven and Hell, show me how to use Your wisdom to walk in the ways that get me closer to my home. For You are my bridegroom and Your words are meant to gently woo me into a lifelong, loving relationship with You. Learning to love Your Word is learning to love You. Listening to Your admonitions and wise counsel shows that I am serious about our relationship. All praise and honor belongs to The Word Among Us!! Long live the King … and long live His Word!! And it’s in Jesus’ name I pray. AMEN!!
