Trusting God’s Word

I thank You, O Gracious and Merciful Lord, for You have given me Your Word to help in learning more about You and Your ways.  I trust Your Word because it is inspired and was given to teach, guide and correct how I live.  Your Spirit encourages me to use it wisely so that I will lack nothing I need and will be equipped for every good work to which I am called.  Your Word opens up a whole, new world to me each time I read it because it widens and broadens my understanding of spiritual and natural things.  My meditation on the Scriptures has shown me that, like you, they are holy, everlasting, true, powerful and never changing.  Faith is the medium by which I am able to put Your words into action.  My faith grows from hearing the messages Your words speak to me.  I struggle to find words that adequately express my gratitude for the gift of the Scriptures which are an outpouring of Your love and commitment to me.

I have come to realize that the thoughtful consideration of Your words is what brings me the peace, strength and power that I need.  I know that Your Word does not deceive and that You back up everything You say with integrity and consistency.  Whenever I begin reading the Scriptures, I know that school is in session … teaching me the things I need to grow and mature.  I am so thankful for Your Word which acts as a beacon showing me the way to go … helping me trust You more … and, chasing away the darkness that is always trying to creep into my life.  I believe that as I study the Scriptures it reveals … Your will for my life … the righteous things you want me to replicate in becoming more like You … the pitfalls that I should  avoid … and, the Good News message of hope that I am to share with a lost and dying world.

Help me never be ashamed of Your Word nor its power to save me and pave the way to a better life.  I’ve come to realize that Your words infuse me with life and the ability to live in accordance with Your will.  I am confident that they are true and contain the power to endure forever.  I know that Your Word is my roadmap for righteous living and finding prosperity.  As I follow the outline in Your Word, I believe that everything will work out for my good.  You encourage me to use it as a two-edged sword, which penetrates and divide my soul and spirit so I can judge my thoughts and ideas in a way that will cause me to shun evil and do what is good.  I know that as I walk in accordance with the Scriptures, I will walk in the ways of an “overcomer”.  Help me keep from wavering in my belief of Your Word and making it the cornerstone of my life.  And it’s in Jesus’ name I pray.  AMEN!!
