Truths to Live By

O Great Counselor, during the course of my life, You have shared with me truths that have added meaning and brought about victories in it.  By living in accordance with Your revealed will, I have peace, confidence and the belief that all will go well with me.  A few of Your truths which have guided me in living a prevailing life are as follows:

#1  You’ve shown me why it’s hard to be happy.  It’s because I refuse to let go of the things that disappoint me and make me sad.

#2  I am not a human being having a spiritual experience.  I am a spiritual being having a human experience.

#3  I must always remember that my present situation is not my final destination.  It’s just a stopping off place on the way to where Your best awaits me.

#4  I must be thankful for even the bad things that happen in my life.  For they teach me lessons and open my eyes to the good things I was not paying attention to before.

#5  If I’m depressed, it’s because I am living in the past.  If I am apprehensive and anxious, it’s because I’m living in the future.  If I’m at peace, I am living in the present.

#6  One of the hardest decisions I’ll ever have to make in my life is choosing whether to walk away or try again.

#7  I cannot hang out with negative people and expect to live a positive life.

#8  Nothing in my life can change if I do not decide to change them.

#9  It is much better to walk alone than with a crowd headed in the wrong direction.

#10  I must never lose hope because I do not know what tomorrow may bring … and, I walk with the One who is my hope.

I rejoice in the fact that You are willing to share Your wisdom with me.  As I submit my will to You and walk in Your ways, I am sure that You will share with me many more truths by which I am to live.  And it’s in Jesus’ name I pray.  AMEN!!

John 8:31-32 If you hold on to my teachings, you are really my disciples.  Then you shall know the truth, and the truth will set you free.
