O Faithful God, I take comfort in knowing You’ve promised “to never leave me, nor forsake me.” As I see Your tender love expressed in all that You provide and all the times You heed my cries, I feel loved and secure. When I acknowledge Your sufficiency in meeting my needs and feel the benefits of Your protection, I am at peace. With You standing by me each day, worry and fear have no place in my life. My confidence grows stronger as You teach me lessons on how to live and I begin to practice them. As I follow in Your footsteps, goodness and mercy fill my days. My courage is fortified by Your words which tell me Your eyes roam over the whole earth looking to strengthen and encourage those whose hearts are committed to You. Knowing that Your eyes are watching me to ensure that blessings and good prevail in my life and that evil and misfortune cannot overtake me, gives me reassurance.
You are faithful to dwell with me as I walk blameless before You and obey Your commands. You befriend those who are righteous and live by Your truths. I must be faithful to You and Your Word to inherit Your promises. I am confident You will not hide Your face from me so long as I seek Your will and offer up sacrifices of praise to You. As My God, You take away my pains, fill the voids in my life and heal my broken heart. You are my ever present help in times of need. You are welcome in my life so … do not forsake me, nor remove Your covering from over me and come quickly when I call. I know that when my strength wanes, You will be there to invigorate me through Your joy, mercy and grace. Help me never despair and, instead, keep me expecting Your help no matter how big my problems are or how severe my limitations might be. Your hope uplifts me and helps me persevere.
The parable about the shepherd and the 100 sheep, who upon losing one, sets out to find it, reminds me that no matter how far I drift from You … You seek me out and bring me back safely. It may sound foolish for a shepherd to leave the 99 to search for the one. However, this story shows me how much You value each person and consider them worthwhile. Your love makes You want me to always be safe and my life filled with goodness. How reassuring it is to realize that before I knew You, You sought me out. And, because of Your unconditional love, You committed to walk with me each day and look out for my best interests. As I go about my day, I seek to know Your truths and how they fit into my life. I am comforted in knowing that You’ve left the Holy Spirit and Your peace to guide me. Because You are with me 24/7, I know my life will be full and prosperous. And it’s in Jesus’ name I pray. AMEN!!
