What I Do Matters

My Sovereign King, Your reign is glorious and filled with splendor because all power resides in You and You deal swiftly with Your enemies.  But I am not an enemy so, when I stumble and fall, You encourage me to repent and return to You.  When I am powerless and lose hope because of the troubles in my life, You pick me up and give me strength to move forward with my life.  Because Your love is unconditional, You are compassionate, slow to anger, abounding in kindness and shielding me from calamity.  Spare me, O Lord, and do not abandon me in my times of need … do not disinherit me.  You have been faithful when I could not and, as a result, You meet all my needs regardless of whether I deserve it or not.  You have done countless good in my life, so I should not fear You … instead, rejoicing in Your care and kindness.  As I strive to live my life in accordance with Your ways, I trust that You will support me and my efforts to become more like You.

Help me walk worthy of the liberty You purchased for me with Your blood so that Heaven will be my home and sin will no longer be my master.  In my new liberty, I’ve been “powered-up” to shine forth Your light and love into a world that desperately needs them both.  As I remain faithful in the things You ask me to do, I believe that You will restore the time I’ve wasted and remove the effects of grief and suffering which I’ve incurred  as a result of bad choices.  What I’ve lacked in quantity, You will make up in quality.  Enrich my life with the anointing of the Holy Spirit so I might see things through Your eyes and comprehend them with Your wisdom and understanding.  Give me the courage and strength to persevere during tough times and steer clear of darkness.  I know that if I believe what You say and follow Your instructions … my life will be filled with peace, joy and contentment.  What I do matters.  And everything I think or do either builds up or damages Your Kingdom.  I want to be a builder and not a destroyer.

I know that whatever You open to me (Heaven, hope, blessing, forgiveness) … no one can shut. And, whatever You shut (Hell, hopelessness, calamity, fear) … no one can open.  You have opened to me the doors to Paradise, Your love and blessings from Your bounteous storehouse. And, no one can steal them from me unless I allow it.  I am blessed as You flood my life with endless love and good things.  Even when I feel my strength waning, I purpose in my heart to do what is right, honor Your Word and remain loyal to You.  As my reward, I believe You will help me subdue my enemies and keep me on the right path.  Because I have obeyed Your commands and endured my hardships with patience, I am confident that You will watch over me all of my days and insure that my trials do not overwhelm me.  Help me hold on to the things You’ve given to me because they are meant for my well-being.  I want to live my life in a way that makes You proud because what I do matters.  And it’s in Jesus’s name I pray. AMEN!!

Colossians 1:10 And we pray that You may live a life worthy of the Lord and may please Him in every way; bearing fruit in every good work, growing in the knowledge of God, being strengthened with all power according to His glorious might so that you may have great endurance and patience …
