All That I Am

Most Gracious Lord, though my life is mine to live, I can’t forget that it was You who brought me into this world with a purpose and a mission.  My parents birthed me and gave me a name, but it was You who had a call on my life.  You alone know everything about me … all that I am and all I will ever be.  You are the truth I cling to and the One who possesses the answers to all of my questions.  You are the source of every good and perfect gift I receive.  Because of You, every trial I face is brushed aside … the sorrow and discouragement I feel is replaced with Your joy … every difficulty I endure is met with a door of escape … every battle I go through ends in victory … and every sin I commit is covered with Your forgiveness and blood when I repent.  When troubles try to work their way into my life, I cannot let them sit upon Your throne because that is where You belong.

Because I belong to You, every beat of my heart … every work of my hands … every thought I think … every moment I live … and, everything that I am … I give to You as my living sacrifice of thanksgiving for all that You mean to me and all that You do for me.  Upon the dawning of each day, I dedicate it to You and service to others.  As My Creator, I give You thanks for the talents and abilities You’ve given to me and I will strive to use them to bring You honor and praise.  With the seed of faith that You’ve placed within me, I will feed it on the nourishment of Your Word … I will water it with the refreshing that comes from the Holy Spirit … and I will cause it to flourish in the light of Your presence.  I promise to seek my direction from You alone (as I communicate with You in prayer) and  strive to comprehend everything You say through meditation on Your words.  My goal in living is to be conformed into Your likeness.

Make me what You will, My Lord, for I have given myself completely to You.  All that I am … all that I will ever be … I place on Your altar for You to do with as You please.  Mold me and shape me in the person You intended for me to become when I was given life.  Set my heart free so I can get beyond myself in order to serve You and others.  I want to learn how to give unconditional love like the one You give to me.  For Your love is better than anything the world has to offer … is more satisfying than the lusts of my flesh … and is more pure than anything I can imagine.   You have said that I am wonderfully made with the potential to be everything You imagined I would be.  You formed me … You know me … You know my deepest thoughts … You know my comings and my goings … and, You know all that I am.   So I’m counting on You to cause goodness to flourish in my life and evil to flee.  For I know You have the power to make me all that I can be and I trust myself in Your hands.  And it’s in Jesus’ name I pray.  AMEN!!
