Be with me, O Lord, when I find myself in trouble. Take my hand and lead me through the turmoil that tries to destroy my hope and will. Your Word is my source of truth … and Your Spirit my source of power and comfort. When I grow restless and uneasy, give me the peace to overcome my anxieties. When I look for meaning in my life, show me Your plan so I can see where I fit in it. Let Your joy abound in me so that I can find the strength to persevere. When I lose my way, shine forth Your light to guide me back to Yourself. As I see that others have more than me, help me remember that I too am blessed and have been given more than I truly deserve. If I cry out wanting more, help me remember that You have already supplied the things I really need. Prepare the soil of my heart and mind for the seeds of faith that You plant daily so I will become a large tree sheltering those You bring to me.
As one of Your elect, I should give You praise regardless of what I am going through. You’ve promised that You are a rewarder of those who diligently seek You, so my focus must become advancing the work of Your Kingdom. I must take care in judging others knowing that I will be judged by the very measure I use to judge them. In order to draw closer to You, I must distance myself from me and my fleshly desires. If I expect You to come to my rescue, I should be willing to rescue others. I can never lose sight of the fact that You are kind, loving and compassionate. Therefore, I should not hold back from turning to You in my times of need and trusting that You will be there for me. Friends come and go, but You are a faithful companion at all times. Darkness often comes to minimize me, but the glow of Your love reminds me that I am cherished and valued.
As I rest in the shelter of Your arms, I realize that You are both my Refuge and a Sure Foundation upon which I can confidently build my life. In Your presence, I am filled with hope and strengthened to withstand whatever might come against me. With Your hedge of protection surrounding me, the Devourer has no place to sneak in to deceive me and fear has no opening to take hold of my life. I feel comforted in knowing that You are faithful in all of Your ways and You honor all of the promises You have made. Your angels are ministering spirits which You’ve given to the heirs of salvation, who upon Your command, guard me throughout the day and night. It is wonderful to realize that I am not alone and vulnerable to attack. Instead, You act as a watchman to insure I am not overwhelmed with more than I can handle. As a consequence, I know that whatever befalls me, You are an ever-present help!! And it’s in Jesus’ name I pray. AMEN!!

Thank you, Larry. This touches a lot of bases for me this morning. I was grateful and encouraged by your phone call yesterday. I can indeed tell you have been spending time with Him in His psalms by this prayer.
