My Ever-Vigilant Lord, I am comforted by Your words which tell me that You have not given me a spirit of fear but, instead, have infused me with Your power, love and a sound mind. You’ve also promised that You will watch over me so that I cannot be brought into bondage by fear. In the assurance of Your love, You’ve left no room for fear to squeeze its way into my life because Your love resists and casts out fear. Fear creates torment and that is why You are so committed to blocking it from establishing a foothold from which to attack my peace. When I made the choice to link my life to Yours, fear was left out in the cold. Fear plays upon my senses … what I can see and what I hear … in order to mislead me. However, Your antidote is Your Word which promises safety and protection. Belonging to You invites me into the safety of Your arms while the sword of the Spirit resists evil as it tries to permeate my life.
Your love assures me that evil will not overcome me because You have assigned angels to watch over me and keep me safe as I go about my life. You have commanded me to not become afraid when trouble knocks at my door. I must remain confident that You are faithful in providing the things You promised in Your Word. As I act upon Your teachings and obey Your commands, my faith will be strengthened and I’ll be able to resist fear’s attempts to oppress me. Because I’ve put my trust in You, I will not be afraid because nothing can prevent me from attaining the goals You’ve planned for my life. Regardless of where life takes me, I will not fear the forces of evil because You are with me. Your presence comforts me and I walk with my eyes forward because I know You have my back. Because You stand with me, neither tribulations, distress or hardships will separate me from Your love.
You are My Light and My Salvation … whom shall I fear? I can muster the courage I need to overcome evil because You strengthen me and fill me with hope and optimism. It is Your peace that calms me when I am disturbed by fear. Your peace settles my troubled heart so I do not succumb to the distractions of my enemy. Whatever seems impossible does not rob me of Your peace because I know You are bigger, stronger and smarter than anything I face. This has become my foundation and it anchors me. With You as my helper, what is there to fear? You have created me to prevail and not become a slave of fear. So long as I am able to maintain my connection with You, nothing can prevail against me. No longer will I be dismayed by the tactics of fear because You strengthen and uphold me. That is why whenever I experience fear, I know I can reject it. And it’s in Jesus’ name I pray. AMEN!!
