Most Glorious Lord, since the very beginning of this nation’s formation Your grace has been a vital part of its growth. In the beginning, this country was established against overwhelming odds. Patriots, with Christian hearts, formed the backbone of this great nation’s fate. When civil strife broke out between the states in the 1860s, You held the country together even though it went through a bloody four year war. When World War II broke out and our homeland was attacked at Pearl Harbor, You used American forces in Europe and the Far East to crush leaders seeking to dominate the world. On 9/11, this country was again attacked but the American people again rose up to take down Muslim Extremists who vowed to destroy this country. Today, Socialists/Communists want to subvert Your nation and take over the Land of the Free for their vision. You again will help us defeat that attack as well.
Grace has become known as “Your unmerited favor”. At the founding of this nation, it was the people’s desire to worship You openly and live free. The Founding Fathers writing the Declaration of Independence and Constitution were inspired by the yearnings of Your heart to see Your people have a place to dwell where they could worship You openly and live in liberty. I see this country as an example of Your desire for Your people to be free from the things that bind all humans. America has become a mirror of man’s desire to be free from the power of Satan. In the same way that You have been a beacon to those who have no hope and live in bondage, the people of America live with the hope of succeeding and prospering. This land has become a place where men of every race, creed or origin can live with an equal chance of success. It is a place where men live together in search of a common cause.
Every part of this country is a representation of who You are. From the majestic mountains to the peaceful ocean shores to the glorious sunrises and sunsets and the abundant fields of fruits and grains, Your presence can be found in all of them. You placed within the hearts of men a search for liberty and a desire to strive. I am blessed to live in a country that has received Your gift of grace and I want to be filled with Your goodness. As a result of the outpouring of Your grace, every person should bow down and give homage to You. There is no place in this land that has been exempted from Your love and gift of grace. Through Your urging, inquisitive and brave souls have set out to find all that You laid out for us to experience. That is why this country is known as the Home of the Brave and Free. I give thanks that You have shed Your grace on me and the land in which I live. And it’s in Jesus’ name I pray. AMEN!!
