Hope of the Ages

Most Majestic King, You are the fulfillment of the hope of the ages by bringing down Your Father’s Kingdom to His people. In the fulfillment of His promise, I have been assured that, if I heed Your words, I will be the beneficiary of a good life. As I read Your Word, I will be taught its meaning and I will come to understand the hope of my calling. If I choose to forsake my selfish ways, I will be given the gift of forgiveness. Your Word will become like water refreshing my parched soul. While I understand that Your ways are not my ways, I now live with the hope that You will change my heart and motivate me into new paths of living. Through You, I have received the courage to face my unknowns and, through the strength that You provide, I am able to persevere in doing good. I can testify that You have done great and mighty deeds which give testimony of Your greatness and create an atmosphere of hope.

If I love You and obey Your commands, I will inherit the hope of a fulfilling and meaningful future. To live victoriously, I must believe what You say is true and long for the fulfillment of Your promises in my life. To help me reach the goals You have set for my life, You have given me the gift and companionship of the Holy Spirit to guide me in paths of righteousness. Through His tutoring, I will be given the hope of Your Word being fulfilled in my daily life. Doing good will be the sign of His working in my life. Things that had been impossible for me to attain in the past will be made possible through the insights that He offers to me. You, My Lord, are the hope of the ages and Your gift of the Holy Spirt is Your way of helping me live the life of a believer. Through devotion and obedience to You, I am confident that I will be able to reap the benefits of the good that I sow.

In my selfishness, I have come to expect things from You upon demand. In the flesh, You are supposed to deliver whatever I ask, when I ask for it. Hope, on the other hand, shines light into that darkness and shows me how to walk by faith. Expectations demand answers right away, while hope supplies the patience and perseverance to wait for Your perfect timing. Expectations focus on the here and now, while hope points the way to things to come. Hope is a gift from above, while expectations are earthly and selfish. Hope does not disappoint, while expectations usually do. Your hope needs to be the active force within me and there should be no substitutes. I am confident that You gave me the gift of the Holy Spirit to guide me through life’s difficult circumstances and provide me with the hope I need to overcome adversity. And it’s in Jesus’ name I pray. AMEN!!

Romans 15:13 May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in Him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.
