How Blessed I Am

Most Gracious and Generous Lord, I never stop often enough to thank You for the many blessings You pour into my life … living in a free country, raised by honest and God-fearing parents, having a job with a company that treated me and compensated me fairly, being given a loving and devoted spouse, having children and grandchildren that add meaning to my life, having good and faithful friends, being a part of a church that makes me feel safe and useful, the gift of the Holy Spirit to guide me, teach me and console me. Your blessings are always accompanied by Your goodness, love, and power. Your blessings are available to me in this life and the one to come. Thank You for opening my eyes to see and my ears to hear the calling of Your Salvation message. When I submitted myself to You, You blessed me with forgiveness, a release from the power of sin and a place with You in Heaven.

As I reflect on Your blessings, I remember how You watch over me day and night to keep me safe as I walk out my life. You are gracious and accept my missteps as part of learning all the while encouraging me to do what is right and just. Giving me Your peace lifts the heavy weight of the burdens I must bear off of me and allows me to rest. Your light shines into my life chasing away the darkness and showing me the way to a better life. Your joy puts pep into my step, gives hope to the yearnings of my heart and give me a positive outlook for my life. Your blessings are Your way of dispersing divine favor on me because You love me and want to reward me for walking in ways that please You. When I seek a blessing, I am hoping for Your intervention in my life to cause me to say “I am blessed.” There is nothing more fulfilling than a blessing I know came from You.

When I count my blessings, I cannot overlook the care You take to keep me on track and chase my enemies away. I feel protected and safe because Your mercy and grace seem to follow me everywhere I go. Your love is everlasting and unconditional, which makes me feel cherished and a part of You … now that’s a real blessing. I find myself seeking Your approval which is confirmed by Your blessings. The peace You give is a special blessing that I cherish. Your blessings are intended to help me through my tough times and be a demonstration of Your love and encouragement. I should not expect to be only a receiver of Your blessings. Show me how to be a blessing to others. I need to share Your love, Your encouragement, and Your desire to help in times of trials and heartache. Blessings are a key part of my life and as it has been said, “it is better to give than to receive.” And it’s in Jesus’ name I pray. AMEN!!

Numbers 6:24-26 The Lord bless you and keep you; the Lord make His face shine on you and be gracious to you; the Lord turn His face toward you and give you peace.
