Learning From You

My Heavenly King, You have said in Your Word that my thoughts are not Your thoughts nor Your ways my ways. And, if Your thoughts are higher than my thoughts, how will I ever be able to understand You and Your ways? I think I found Your answer in another scripture that tells me if I call upon You, You will answer and show me great and mighty things which I do not know. If that is so, I am going to have to learn about You and Your ways by asking and then becoming quiet to hear what You have to say. Because I believe that You do want me to understand You better and walk in Your ways, I will trust You to reveal as much about Yourself as I can handle. Through the working of the Holy Spirit, He will reveal more about You and Your ways so I can absorb them into my life. I am confident that as I immerse myself more into You, I will become more like You.

As I learn to discern the sweet, small voice inside that is speaking to me, I will start to become rooted in my belonging to You and begin to believe that nothing … tribulations, troubles, or distress … will ever separate me from Your love and desire to help me make it through my difficult times. Through our oneness, I know You will strengthen me and make me into an overcomer in all things. As I come to understand the depth of Your love for me, I will become better disposed to believe that You will deliver me from whatever trouble I might find myself. When You came to save me, it was not a one-time event. Your desire was to take upon Yourself any burden that I was willing to share with You. I am learning that fear and worry are my enemy and their desire is to block my view of Your standing with me. And, when I become weak, I am confident that You will strengthen me and give me the help I need.

I am also convinced that all things will work together for my good in life when I pursue a deeper knowledge of You and Your ways. If I pursue more, I know that I will find it … either through my reading of Your Word or my contemplation of what they mean for me. I know this … Your ways are perfect and Your words have proven themselves true, therefore I must commit to the study of Your Word if my spiritual life is to progress. I must pursue each nugget in Your Word as though it was a diamond hidden in a field just waiting to be found. Once I grasp a truth, I must cling to it because its value goes far beyond human comprehension. I will not think it strange when trials come upon me and, instead, I will receive them with joy knowing they will grow my faith and give me a chance to handle them in the way that You would. And it’s in Jesus’ name I pray. AMEN!!

Jeremiah 33:3 Call on me, and I will answer You, and will show You mighty things, which you do not know.
