Wondrous Shepherd, with You as my leader I know I will not be misled or led astray. You came to the earth to provide me with leadership and direction. As My Shepherd, I know You will guide me down righteous paths, to places of peace, and where goodness and mercy follow me everywhere I go. When I was far from You, You invited me to come closer, and my outcomes became much better. Through Your suffering, death, burial, and resurrection, I have been made an overcomer who has been reconciled with Your Father. I thank you for taking pity on me and reaching out to lift me out of the mire I found myself in. As I awake each day, I have the assurance that because of Your compassion You will stand with me and provide the things I need. In the same way that You were moved by compassion and pity for the crowds that came to You, fill me with that same compassion and pity for those You put into my life.
I recognize within my heart a spiritual hunger to know more about You. I am believing You will teach me the things I need to know. There is nothing about Your Kingdom that You will withhold from me if I remain humble and come to You with a sincere heart. As My Shepherd, You speak to me and I am able to discern Your voice and set out to do what You ask. As a sheep of Your flock, help me follow Your lead without question. With the help of the Holy Spirit, I know He will help me avoid rebelling against Your will. I feel fortunate that You are willing to meet me where I am … knowing I am imperfect but desiring to be more like You. Help me resist the fear and apprehensiveness that cause barriers to be built between us. At times like these, I need You the most and I am confident You will not abandon me. I have enough faith to believe that if I go astray, You will come to show me the place where I belong.
I know that as I love like You did, I will become more like You. As a Believer of Your teachings, I must be willing to put Your words to work in my life. By opening my heart and mind to You and absorbing Your teachings, I know I will become like You. As I invite You to lead me and guide me in how to live my life it will become the one You desired when You brought me into this world. You are the way of truth and righteous living. You came to the earth to help me by being an example of the way I should live. To a sheep gone astray, You came to provide the leadership I needed to live a life in harmony with You and be shown the pathway to Heaven. I rejoice in the fact that by receiving You into my heart, I have an assured place at Your banqueting table. I trust Your voice and I want to follow Your lead and in so doing I will be enabled to respond appropriately to You. And it’s in Jesus’ name I pray. AMEN!!
