Most Sovereign King, I rejoice in knowing that I am a beneficiary of Your goodness and that I serve such a righteous Lord. You take pride in me because I am unashamed to express my love and devotion to You. You fill me with joy because I have chosen to follow You. And, I find favor with You because I seek You each day. My weakness stems from my flesh, but my power is derived from You. I could never count all the ways that You have touched my life with Your kindness. I feel privileged that You want me to be a source of goodness and kindness to others. What I am learning is that in serving others, I am serving You. Each time I feed the poor … welcome a stranger … clothe those who have none … visit the shut-ins who are ill … I do it in Your name. Through Your example, I am being led in paths of righteousness and through Your words my mind is being renewed with beautiful, loving thoughts.
As My King and Ruler of the Universe, You are the possessor of all power. You are the Head of the Church, Supreme Judge and Master to all of those who submit themselves to You. In the annuls of time You have been referred to as: Lord of Hosts, Commander of the Heavenly Army, Holy Messiah, God’s Anointed and Lord God Almighty. In all Your glory, You deserve my loyalty, respect and obedience. As My Lord and God, You defend me from those who wish to do me harm and give me victories over them. You are awesome in all Your ways and I should be bold in proclaiming all the things that You have done for me. You are to be exalted and praised because You enjoy the praises of Your people. In Your great wisdom, You have chosen a course for me that will give me success. I must now make a choice to comply with that call or reject it and be prepared to live with the consequences of my decision.
I cannot forget that You possess all power and rule over all things. However, You chose to come humbly as a small child to redeem Your people. It is the normal case that subjects submit and humble themselves to their king. In Your case, it was You who left royal robes, a jeweled crown and a majestic throne to be born in a manger, wrapped in swaddling clothes. Rather than command Your subjects to do “this or that”, You gave them an example to follow. Instead of lording Your authority over them, You came to teach and serve. Through Your love and commitment to me, I owe my allegiance, devotion and service. Every King must have a Kingdom and a people called by His name. The Church is that Kingdom and we have all been called to be Your kinsmen and servants in it. This day I gladly proclaim You as The God Almighty and offer myself to You. And it’s in Jesus’ name I pray. AMEN!!
