O Precious Child of God (Christmas Theme)

How beautiful and lovely are You, O Precious Child of God, who brings glad tidings of joy and peace.  You came bearing Good News regarding salvation and reconciliation.  O how Your coming gives me reason to rejoice and be hopeful.  Your love and comfort fills me with optimism concerning a better tomorrow.  Within Your small, tiny body resides the power that sets men free and allows them to do something meaningful with their life.  As a humble servant, purify and prepare me to be a faithful disciple who walks in Your ways.  Help me prosper in all that I do so that I can be a light shining forth Your goodness and mercy.  For many have heard of Your coming but have not surrendered to Your call … in Your tenderness, stretch out Your hand to personally invite them to Yourself.  Knowing that You would be spurned by men, be a man of suffering and become all too accustomed to infirmity … none-the-less, You came among sinners to show them Your kindness and compassion.  How blessed I am by Your coming!!

O Precious Child of God, You came into the world to give testimony of a loving God.  You came to take away the heartache, confusion and despair of the darkness in order to shed a light on a better way that sets men free.  You came into the world when man could not find a way to free himself from the entanglements of sin, death and Hell … yet they did not acknowledge You.  You came to save Your own, but they did not accept You.  Thanks be to God, those of us who do accept You were given the power to become children of the Almighty God.  For each of us, who were not born because of human choice nor because of a human decision, were born of a heavenly will.  I give thanks for Your visitation, who at first appeared in the form of a child, to allow man to see the awesome power and love of the One True God.  Through The Child, I have received an abundance of grace and mercy to sustain me through all things.

Helpless, hungry, in low estate and wrapped in a blanket to protect You from the winter cold, You came to be with the people You love.  You came to bring us hope and a new way of living.  You shared in our sorrow, pain and disappointments, yet showed us the way to an overcoming life.  Through someone so small and fragile, came so much that we can never repay.  You were a stranger to most … an outcast to many … yet You cared deeply about our lives and our outcomes.  To those who hungered and thirst for something better, You came to show them how to achieve it and find purpose for their lives.  I have little I can offer You except myself, my love and my devotion.  Take my life, strengthen my will and say to my frightened heart “Fear not: Your God is near.”  O Precious Child of God, how I welcome You into my heart today and look forward to our walk together into eternity.  And it’s in Jesus’ name I pray.  AMEN!!

Luke 2:11-12 Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to You; He is the Christ, the Lord.  This will be a sign to you:  you will find a baby wrapped in swaddling clothes and laying in a manger.
