My Tenderhearted Lord, starting off my morning with You is the key to strength and success in my day. If I make time to meet with You before I start my day, it helps me begin it with a clear mind and the assurance that You will be with me throughout my day. When I include time in Your Word, I can feel the warmth of Your light in my heart driving out the darkness and showing me the path that I am to follow. Rising early to meet with You helps me start my day with a clear focus on Your will and being what You want me to be. Keeping You foremost in my mind helps eliminate the clutter that stifles my will and distracts me from the things You want me to do. In the morning, I can lay my requests at Your feet and feel confident that You hear me. Early in the morning, my mind is free of problems and distractions … that will come later in the day … and I am in a state where I can commit my whole day to You.
Regular communication with You deepens our relationship and assures me of Your commitment to uphold me throughout my day. If I seek You when my soul thirsts for You and my being longs for You, I’ve found the refreshing and invigoration I need for meeting the challenges of my day. You alone can satisfy my deepest yearnings and I find the answers that I seek when I come to You often and early. When I start my day with You, I am renewed and full of hope but, as the day drags on, I become withered and drained … needing a good night’s sleep and another charge of my battery in the morning. I know that as You satisfy me with Your unfailing love in the morning … I can go forth with joy and gladness knowing that You will be there whenever I need You. Beginning each day by reflecting on what You want helps me keep my focus and perspective.
With the dawning of each morning comes the light of Your countenance and Your unfailing love. It creates within me a confidence that I can trust the way You are showing me to go. I remember Your promise to love those who love You and that those who seek You will find You. When troubles overtake me like a storm … when a disaster sweeps over me like a whirlwind … when distress or disappointment come to overtake me … it proves beneficial if I am prepared for these things by getting a full dose of Your love before my day starts. You have told me that, when my focus is on You, I will find myself surrounded by peace, my mind steadfast and my heart filled with joy. If I want to follow in Your ways, I must walk in the light that You shine on my path. That is why I will let Your Sonlight shine into my life in the morning. And it’s in Jesus’ name I pray. AMEN!!
Isaiah 33:2 O Lord, be gracious to us. We long for You. Be our strength every morning and our salvation in times of distress.
