Give an ear to my cries, O Lord, and consider the troubles that I bear. For I know that You do not sleep and are always attentive to the needs of Your own. I am aware that You have disdain for the wicked and strike down those who do evil and are perverse. Those who act foolishly will lose their way because they ignore You and do not follow Your leading. I do not want to repeat their folly with my own foolish acts. I believe that You created me out of the goodness of Your heart with a purpose and I never want to be a source of disappointment to You. I hunger and search for You as I go about my day … I watch for Your leading so I can walk in Your ways. I strive to submit to Your will which requires that I make a conscious choice to follow Your lead.
My desire is to dwell with You, in Your Kingdom, forever. Show me how to walk in Your righteousness and make straight my path so I do not go astray. Help me walk by faith and not by sight. Cleanse me from unrighteousness and selfishness. Make the words of my mouth and the meditations of my heart always be acceptable to You. Place within me a stronger zeal for You and Your laws. Purge me with the fire of Your indignation so that all of the impurities in my life can be remove by the ladle of Your love. Steady me and keep me from stumbling over the goals You’ve set for me and grant me the wisdom and power to live by Your standards. Do not let a rebellious streak to overtake me. Keep me humble and tenderhearted toward You and others. I have come to a place in my life where I never want to put my trust in anyone or anything but You. In trusting You, I will find contentment and experience a peace that surpasses all understanding.
I believe that You bless the righteous and give favor to those who do Your will. Your wish is to be my shield and a defense against evil and unjust attacks. So have mercy on me, a sinner, for I am weak and need of Your strength. Deliver me from all of the forces that try to draw me away from You. When I am weary and groan from the struggles of life, send me the healing balm of Your love and encouragement. Heal my broken heart and give me a sound body. Make me whole so I can give my best in the furtherance of Your Kingdom. I am confident that You listen to my supplication and respond to all of my needs. Do not delay Your response because I will surely lose hope and become faint of heart. I love You, adore You and I cling to You like a vine to a wall. In Your deliverance and mercy, I feel blessed with more than I deserve. And in Jesus’ name I pray. AMEN!!
Psalm 119:153-154 Look upon my suffering and deliver me, for I have not forgotten Your law. Defend my cause and redeem me; preserve my life according to Your promises.
