Standing in Your Might

All Powerful God, when facing adversity, I must stand firm in faith knowing that the task ahead may be difficult but relying on You will make it easier.  If I am going to be successful, obedience to You is essential and I must fortify myself with the assurances found in Your Word.  In doing so, I can begin to act and react to circumstances in the same way that You would.  I know that I can draw strength and courage from Your promise to never leave or forsake me.  Without You, my life becomes very frightening but, with You by my side, it can be a great experience.  By following Your instructions, I know I will be successful.  Victory is a key component of Your plan for my life.  You have provided me with victories in the past to confirm Your faithfulness and I believe I can expect them in the future.  I must no longer view my problems as impossibilities … rather see them as opportunities to overcome.

As I make You the center of my life, I can be assured that You will be faithful in keeping Your promises to me.  When my life exemplifies obedience to Your will and conformity with Your Word, my life will be filled with Your goodness, favor and mercy.  When I am filled with Your courage and power, I am able to overcome fear and discouragement.  To stand in Your might, I must seek You with all of my heart and never tire from well-doing.  Increasing in Godly wisdom is another vital part of getting stronger and it pays to attain it.  As I learn to perceive things through Your eyes, I am better prepared to comprehend Your mysteries and, thereby, ascend to a better place.  What I learn is what I become.  With a greater supply of Your wisdom, I am equipped to become more like You.  I must become watchful for the deceptions and lies of my enemy which come at me like burning arrows wanting to destroy my future.

I must never give in to fear regarding my calling.  To be strong, I must not shy away from the work to which You’ve called me.  I am confident that You will stand by me until my work is complete.  I cannot cease my labors because the tasks become more difficult and I can never forget that greater is the power that You have placed within me than those that operate in the world.  It is easier to be strong and carry out the role to which I’ve been called when I know that You are with me.  And, while I must become a person of prayer, a faithful reader of Your Word and a worshiper who appreciates all that you’ve done for me … eventually, I must go out and do what You called me to do.  I want to be one of those You can count on to change the world.  It is through Your constant urging and encouragement that I am able to stand in Your might.  And it’s in Jesus’ name I pray.  AMEN!!

Isaiah 35:4 Say to those with fear in their heart “Be strong, do not fear; Your God will come with a vengeance; with divine retribution He will come to save you.”
