O God of Love, Your tenderness and mercy prop up my spirits and encourage me to persevere through my darkest times. Your love is able to dispel my sorrow and heal my broken heart. When nothing seems to be going right, You give me the assurance that things will go well for me in the future and You will keep me safe from harm. The wonders of Your love lift me above my circumstances and remove my lingering doubts. It makes me bold and empowers me to tell others that You stand ready to meet their needs. As I am filled with Your love, I feel protected from the attacks of my enemies and life’s disappointments. Your love is like a crackling fire in autumn evening, casting it’s light into the darkness guiding me through whatever trouble I face. Through the working of the Holy Spirit, I am being led into truth and I’m being taught the principles that will help me succeed in life. When I awake each morning, my heart searches to sync up with Yours and, when the sun sets, I rest safely in Your arms.
When I have no place to turn and despair storms in to take control of my life, I cry out for help and I know You will come quickly to my aid. I trust that You remain attentive to my needs and listen intently for my prayers. I have experienced the peace of Your comfort and Your willingness to help me through my difficulties and trials. As long as I live by faith and cultivate a hope in You, I am confident You will be faithful in helping me withstand whatever forces come my way. Dispelling my gloom and negative attitudes seems to be a thing You are adept at handling. You constantly remind me that each new day is filled with opportunities for a better life and to reap the benefits of being Yours. When clouds of darkness begin to roll into my life, it is the winds of Your love and compassion that blow them away and gives me hope for a brighter day. I must never forget that Your love is unfailing and pulls me in the direction I should go. It is the fire of Your love that warms my cold heart and motivates me to do good.
I know that as I surrender control of my life to You … my failures will turn into successes … my losses will turn into victories … and, my limitations will be overcome by Your awesome power. As I learn to walk in Your ways, my delusions of self-sufficiency, pride and my own greatness will give way to humility, submission and obedience. I never want to think that I can live successfully apart from You because when I do I begin to feel lonely, make awful decisions and become fearful. Continue to remind me of my need for You and the help You offer. Instill within me the ability to see with eyes that see the majesty of everything You do … and, hear with ears that hear the wisdom You share with me. Mend the broken parts of my life so that I can be my best for You and keep the fire of Your love alive in my heart. And it’s in Jesus’ name I pray. AMEN!!
