The Kingdom of God

Thank You, My King, for coming to earth to share Your truths with Your people.  I know that You are a Spirit and, so Your Kingdom … like You, is also spiritual.  As such, it comes to reside in my heart when I allow You to rule and reign there.  To find it, I must put You #1 in my life, filling my mind with Your thoughts and desires, patterning my life after Yours and making the choice to willingly serve and obey You.  The Kingdom starts out small with the measure of faith given to every man and grows as it matures through prayer, meditation and study of Your Word.  To receive it, I must trust You and be open to Your leading.  Your Kingdom is not comprised of physical things … rather, it is a manifestation of Your righteousness, provides me with a quiet contentment knowing I am Your and joy because I’ve been set free to enjoy life as a King’s Kid.

As a citizen of Your Kingdom, I am the recipient of all of its benefits.  As a part of Your Kingdom, I know that my needs will be met and I will receive an ample supply of Your blessings.  In addition, You will open my eyes to the secrets of Heaven so that I might prosper and resolve problems correctly.  In the Kingdom of God, I will be nurtured and given an environment in which to grow and mature.  I will be enabled, through the working of the Holy Spirit, to walk uprightly and, with boldness, proclaiming the Good News of Your Kingdom.  In Your love, I will find the power to heal my spirit, soul and body.  In times of trouble, I look to the Holy Spirit to encourage, strengthen and urge me in doing the things that help me live a worthwhile life.  I accept His control and guidance as I live out my life.  I have confidence in my future because I have built it on the sound and incorruptible foundation of Your Kingdom.

Having a role to play in Your Kingdom, I must act responsibly and carry out the duties of my citizenship.  I must get outside of myself and become more personally involved in caring for others and sharing the Good News.  You insist that I be willing to give when others take, love when others hate and help when others neglect.  I must learn to become obedient to Your commands and teach them to others.  I ought not to talk the walk, but actually walk it.  I need to develop courage, unwavering faith, determination and endurance.  My faith must be strong and sincere and I must trust You in everything.  I ought to practice forgiveness in order to receive it.  And it is essential that I walk by faith and not by sight.  I also want to practice unselfishness so that I might reap the benefits of Your generosity.  My life is great since I’ve found my place in the Kingdom of God.  And it’s in Jesus’ name I pray.  AMEN!!

Colossians 1:13 For he has rescued us from the dominion of darkness and brought us into the Kingdom of the Son He loves, in whom we have redemption and forgiveness from sin.
