Hear my prayer, O Lord, and give an ear to my cries … withhold not Your help in my times of need. Give heed to my pleas for Your mercy and deliverance. In the past, You have rescued me from the midst of turmoil … shown me mercy when I did not deserve it … and, responded to my every need. Therefore, I have come to know that You are faithful and just in responding to my requests. As I walk with You throughout my day, I offer up the sacrifice of praise for Your loving compassion and bounteous supply of kindness. You are my shelter from the storm … my hiding place when danger approaches … my deliverer in times of trouble … and my encourager when my head hangs down. When I pray to You, I am confident that I can count on Your understanding and comfort to ease my pain and sorrow. I know that Your answers may not always be what I want to hear, but I trust that You know what is best for me.
Because I seek an open and honest relationship with You, I freely acknowledge my shortcomings and I do not try to hide my failures. My hope is that through confession and true repentance, You will forgive me and purge of the uncleanness of my sins. In Your mercy, forgive me and give me the hope of triumphing over evil as I move forward with You. Wash me and cleanse me for I have done evil and did not obey Your commands. Purify my lips so that I speak blessings and not curses… praising and not complaining… thanking and not begrudging. Create in me a new heart and strengthen my inner man so that I can once again have fellowship with You. My earnest desire is for the words of my mouth and the meditations of my heart to be completely pleasing and acceptable to You. Be gracious and forgive me, O Lord, for I am weak and easily drawn away by the lusts of my flesh and the deceptions of my enemy.
I know that Your ears are attentive to the pleadings of Your children and Your replies encourages and strengthens them. So incline Your ear to me and respond quickly because my strength is fading. You alone have the power to rebuild my life and restore my prosperity. I rejoice in our relationship because neither do You reject me or remove Your love for me. If only I could learn to be patient, I know I’d reap the benefits of answers to my prayers. I continue to lift up my requests to You because I trust in Your ability to solve my problems and deliver me from the grasp of the things that hold me back. How do I know this? Because when I come to You in prayer, You provide a refuge from fear and worry … give relief from my troubles and burdens … and, wrap me in Your love when my tears are the only means of expressing my sorrow for my sins. In my need, think of me … reach out to me … and, deliver me. For the POWER of my prayer resides in You and the response I receive from You. And it’s in Jesus’ name I pray. AMEN!!
