O Faithful and Merciful King, I’ve come to see that as my faith in You increases so does my trust. That is why You encouraged me to “trust in You with all my heart, lean not on my own understanding and acknowledge You in all of my ways (because, if I do) You will make my paths straight.” I am thankful for Your counselling and wisdom which You shared with me. You’ve taught me principles which are tried and true, given me words that I can count on, provided solutions that work and helped me develop my faith. As I seek to know You better, I am gaining an understanding of Your ways and Your justice. I know that, if I put my trust in You, fear will not ensnare me and You will keep me safe. Every word You speak is trustworthy and offers me a place of refuge. You are the sure Rock upon which I can build my future. As I learn to trust You more, You will keep me in perfect peace and keep me from wavering.
Along with my trust in You comes the assurance of Your protection. I know that if I maintain my trust, You will never forsake me regardless of what I face. My confidence in You is built on the knowledge that Your protection is limitless and comes in many forms. As My Rock, You are immovable and prevent me from being harmed. As My Fortress, You are my place of safety where I can come to hide. As My Shield, You cover me and deflect the fiery darts of my enemies. As My Source of power, You make possible my safety and prosperity. You are an impenetrable wall that encircles me to keep danger away. Under the umbrella of Your protection, I am defended from anything that tries to injure me. By trusting in You, I stand for what You stand for and that leaves no place for my enemy or his deceits. Under Your watchful eye, I know You guard my life and I can run to You whenever danger approaches.
My trust confirms my belief that You are in control and I have nothing to worry about. You showed me an example of ultimate trust when You said to Your Heavenly Father “into Your hands I commend my spirit.” Your words show an absolute dependence on Your Father. Following Your example, I should commit my possessions, my family and myself to You. When I do not put You first, I cannot expect You to guide me. By giving You my trust, I’m showing my belief that You are faithful and just. Your pronouncements are filled with wisdom and are meant for my overall good. They lead me in the ways of peace and safety. In trusting You, I’m indicating my belief that You will help me and deliver me from all my cares. Waiting on You is not always easy, but it has its benefits. That’s why I’m committed to always trust in You And it’s in Jesus’ name I pray. AMEN!!
