Trusting Your Will

Praise to You, My Glorious Lord, for everything that You think or do is good.  I know that because of Your genuine concern for me You carry my burdens and lead me to prosperity.  Help me cultivate a deep-rooted trust in You where I too can say “nevertheless, not my will, but Your will be done.”  As a Christian, I must be willing to accept Your will in everything … even when I do not fully understand Your purposes.  In my difficult times, I must believe that You stand with me and will help me resolve the problems I cannot handle myself.  Grief and suffering are things that You’ve taught me how to endure.  When I face adversity and darkness overwhelms me, I wonder how I will summon the strength to persevere … but with Your help, I know that I can.  When worry comes to torment me, I must trust You and believe that You will show me how to resolve any problem I face.  When I grow anxious, I need to be still and listen for Your reassuring message of love and commitment.  How great it is to know that when I have a need … You have the supply.

As I move forward, I must learn to trust You so that Your plans can be achieved in my life.  Whoever does Your will wins a special place in Your heart.  Help me never forget that I am the clay and You are the potter and, if I am willing to become a useful vessel, I must be attentive and trust that Your way is the best.  I do not want to be conformed to the world, but be transformed into Your image.  I know that this can happen if I will go about renewing my thinking by internalizing Your words so I can walk in Your good, acceptable and perfect will.  My trust in You is built through familiarity … and, that can only happen if I spend time with You daily in my prayer closet.  In a deep, abiding love for You, I know that my faith and trust will grow.

I have come to realize that when I cannot comprehend Your plans, I must trust them anyway if I am to be successful.  If I place myself at the center of Your will, I know that my outcomes will be good.  As I trust You more, I enable You to meet my needs and provide direction for my life.  As each day unfolds, help me draw closer to You so that You will draw closer to me.  In those moments, bind my heart to Your heart … my strength to Your strength … and, my wisdom to Your wisdom so I can become an overcomer.  As I undertake the reading and study of Your Word, show me clearly Your will and the race I must run to achieve it.  Give me the insight I need to know and trust You with my life … and the courage to follow wherever You lead me … today and every day.  And it’s in Jesus’ name I pray.  AMEN!!

Proverbs 3:4-5 Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on Your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will make your paths straight.
