Walking in Godly Wisdom

I am grateful, My Wise Teacher, for Your promise to instruct me in the things I need to know to grow in holiness.  I covet Your counsel and need Your guidance throughout my day.  I will strive to grasp and implement the things You teach me so that there will be no need for You to excessively scold or correct me for my mistakes.  As I learn to walk in wisdom, my words will be an expression of Your truth and hope contained in Your promises.  You have numbered my days, so help me never take for granted the time You give me on this earth.  As I study Your Word and grow in understanding, I know I’ll be able to create a foundation upon which I can build a life like Yours.  I’ve committed to searching for Your truths and, as I discover them, I know they will change me.  Most Holy Spirit, You are my “Teacher” and I know that as I listen You will teach me how to develop my faith.  I’m counting on You imparting what You know to me so I can mature.  Prod me, but do not forsake me … there is so much I have to learn.

All Powerful God, in Your infinite wisdom and might, You have made the sky and stars … the earth and all that is in it … and, the sea and all that is in it.  Your Wisdom makes mine pale in comparison.  Why then do I question Your ways and think that I know better?  It must come from my pride or listening to the deceptive messages of my enemies.  Purge me of thinking more highly of myself than I should and help me accept my place at Your feet … listening to every word that You speak.  Keep me from adhering to the counsel of the ungodly and those who teach worldly ways.  I want to become proficient in discerning the things that cause me to stumble or become entangled in false doctrines promoted by imposters of truth.

Those who are wise are the ones who observe the things You teach.  They reap the blessings of obeying Your commands.  As I grow in Your knowledge, wisdom will flourish in my life and I will begin doing what is good in Your sight.  With understanding, comes an ability to do Your will and become an instrument for good in Your Kingdom.  As I meditate on Your words, my life is flooded with Your light and I am able to see the things I must do to walk as You did.  The tenderness in Your words uplift me … help me to navigate life … and, strengthen me for the journey ahead.  Your wisdom knows all things, expresses itself in truth and shows me a better way.  Your wisdom has the power to purge the impurities from my ways, transforms my thinking and rescues me from the bindings of my enemies.  As I learn to walk in Your ways, all the things I need to succeed will be made known to me.  And it’s in Jesus’ name I pray.  AMEN!!

Psalm 111:10 The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom; all who follow His precepts have good understanding.
