Most Powerful Lord, you spoke and everything we know about the earth, the heavens, the sea, and everything that lives in them was created. Your hands made me and formed me too and I need understanding to learn how to follow Your commands on how I am to lead my life. Staying true to You and Your words is something I must do no matter how bad my circumstances become. Obedience to You is the only way to achieve real happiness. I know that I will be blessed if I walk in accordance with Your instructions. When I follow Your guidance and seek You with all my heart, You will fill my life with good. You have made Your wishes abundantly clear in Your Word and I intend to obey them with all my strength and Your aid. Help me walk uprightly so I am not put to shame and I do not disparage Your name. I know I can keep my walk pure if I live in accordance with Your Word.
What must I do to make my ways faithful and true to You? I can think of a couple of ways: By living in accordance with Your Word; and, by seeking You with all my heart. If I am faithful in reading and meditating on Your Word and dedicate myself to living for You, I will not stray from Your commands. As Your words become etched on my heart, I will accept them as my own and live in accordance with them. If I delight in Your Word, I will not neglect doing what they teach me. I rejoice in the fact that You give me Your words as my counselors so that through them I am provided with the guidance I need to live a productive life. Your words are alive because they speak to me and encourage me to act in accordance with them. They steer me away from evil and show me how to walk uprightly. Open my eyes so that I might see the wonders of who You are and how to achieve victories in the battles of life.
When I become weary and heavily ladened with the cares of daily life, strengthen me with Your words. Keep me from those who would deceive me and lead me down a path of regrets. I want to only go where You lead me so I will be at peace and unburdened. Teach me Your ways and I will strive to keep them to the end. Give me understanding so that I see the meaning of Your words as they apply to me. Direct me in the way I should go and I will not stray in search of worthless things. My desire is to experience Your unfailing love which You dispense through the words You speak. I trust Your Word so do not let my enemies snatch them from me. I have put my trust in Your laws and, as a result, I will strive to obey them all. Because Your words reside in me, I believe I will remain true to them. And it’s in Jesus’ name I pray. AMEN!!
