Wouldn’t It Be Great

Most Adoring Lord, how wonderful it would be to receive a phone call from You each morning saying, “Good morning, this is God.  I’ll be handling all of your problems today.  I will not need your intervention, so have a wonderful day.”  Reality is that I do not get such phone calls but, in reality, it is a fact that You stand with me each and every day to help me deal with my problems and crises.  Feeling Your presence is very comforting and reassuring.  Experience has taught me that taking off on my own to solve problems have left them either unchanged or not completely resolved.  When I turn my problems over to You, I find it usually takes longer than I anticipated but the matter is resolved once and for all.  If it’s not, somehow I’ve gotten in the way.  The times of taking off on my own are decreasing day by day as I keep getting reminded … “wouldn’t it be great if you got God got involved?”

You have promised me in Your Word that “the eyes of the Lord are on those who fear Him … on those whose hope is in His unfailing love.”  In this verse, I am assured of Your watchful protection in times of trials.  In another place, You promise that “the eyes of the Lord are on the righteous and His ears are attentive to their cries.”  Somehow, I tend to think that answers come easy, but most of the time I must practice patience, perseverance and remain hopeful before I actually see my request being answered.  In the scripture I am assured that, in Your faithfulness, You will hear my cries and will respond to them in Your perfect timing.  Therefore, I can walk in confidence, by faith.  In another place, You state that “Your eyes are on the faithful.”  This reminds me that You befriend those who stick by You at all times … trusting that You are the way to good outcomes.  As my friend, You have profoundly influenced my life.

I understand that You are not here with me physically but, through the working of the Holy Spirit, You are with me spiritually.  You have given me the Holy Spirit to help guide me through life.  You explained the role of the Spirit as being the One who would comfort me and teach me everything I need to know to be successful … plus, He’ll remind me of everything You have told me.  The knowledge that You will be with me through the Holy Spirit is very comforting because it lets me know I’ve not been forgotten.  As an extension of Yourself, the Holy Spirit helps me through the rough spots in my life, and bears me up through the vast love that You have for Your people.  I am glad that Your arms are not so short that You cannot reach down and touch even my smallest problem with Your love.  And when I’m struggling, I am reminded that “wouldn’t it be great” to have You involved?  And it’s in Jesus’ name I pray.  AMEN!!

Hebrews 13:5-6 … Never will I leave you; never will forsake you.  So say, The Lord is my helper, I will not fear …
