Your Grace is Sufficient

Most Loving Lord, I am thankful that along with Your great love You provided me with grace to enhance my life.  Because of You, three forces are active in my life:  love, mercy, and grace.  It is Your love that enabled You to participate in a plan to save me from my sins.  Your mercy was an added gift brought about by Your compassion for my weaknesses and failings.  Grace is the unmerited favor You show to me because I am Your own.  I realize that, like so many things from You, grace is a gift that You’ve freely given to me because I’ve surrendered my life to You.  Because of Your love and mercy, when I was dead in sin, You gave me new life through Your death, burial and resurrection.  That is why I know I am saved by grace.  Grace eliminates human merit from the salvation equation and replaces it with faith in You.  In Your grace, I find salvation, safety, blessings, and encouragement.

Your grace can be called Your “sufficiency” or “fullness” in my life.  You have confirmed in Your Word that Your grace is “sufficient” because Your strength is made perfect in my weakness.  It is the force that enables me and empowers me in my times of weakness.  In Your Word, You assure me that You are enough for me no matter what I face.  It is Your grace that perfects me and molds me into the image of Yourself.  In Your grace, I am given worth and standing forever.  In You, I am made complete.  Grace eliminates my need to be justified through the law because now I am justified by Your work on Calvary.  I am no longer in bondage to sin … I am a new person under grace.  I have not been promised that I will get everything I think is good for me … what grace promises is that You will not withhold anything that You feel is good for me.  That is why “fullness” describes what grace adds to my life.

I am not only thankful for the fact that I’ve been saved through grace, but it now acts as the force that moves me to serve You more deeply and live a life appropriate to my calling.  I rejoice in the fact that You recognize my need for Your grace to help me lead a fruitful life because I need Your strength and sufficiency.  I know that it will be through grace that I become the person You want me to be.  What I need to do is get myself out of the way and allow You, through the Holy Spirit and grace, to conform me into Your image.  Because I am weak and prone to stray, I need Your grace to infuse my life each day.  I realize I can do nothing without You but, through grace, I am given the strength and wisdom I need to succeed.  I must live each day in the knowledge that You will supply my needs and Your grace is “sufficient” in every aspect of my life.  And it’s in Jesus’ name I pray.  AMEN!!

II Corinthians 12:9 My grace is sufficient for thee; for my strength is made perfect in weakness.
