Your Kindness is Contagious

Most Glorious Savior, I am thankful for the fact that You have shown me an abundance of compassion and loving kindness.  I see it in the mercy You show to me through the forgiveness of my sins when I truly do not deserve it.  I feel it in the grace that floods my life bringing with it a bounty of good gifts.  I recognize it in the favor I experience with You and my fellow man.  I find it in the refuge You offer me when I need shelter from adversity.  I sense it in the strength I draw from You when I am weak and need a helping hand.  I feel Your kindness in the friendship and wise counsel You offer me.  As I experience the vast array of kindnesses that You pour into my life, I feel so blessed and thankful and hold You in highest esteem.  When I am in distress, filled with grief and disappointment, experiencing anguish, and finding it difficult to cope … it is Your compassion and kindnesses that help me keep it all together.

Your kindness is a reflection of Your faithfulness and love for me.  Your unfailing love is a constant source of comfort and compassion.  It is sincere … hating the evil I do but loving the person I am … and is dedicated to bettering my life as I conform it to Your will.  Despite Your displeasure and disappointment over my sinning, You show an everlasting kindness and compassion for my lost estate and remain willing to help me overcome my weaknesses.  I am convinced that there is nothing I can do that can shake Your love and belief in me.  It is through patience and Your kindnesses that I can endure the struggles I have with troubles, hardships, and distresses.  As Your child, I must cloth myself with Your kindness and compassion … allow myself to be led of the Spirit … make place for Your peace to reign in my heart … be thankful in all things … and live my life to the fullest for You.

Your kindness toward me has created a zeal in me toward others that makes me want to become a vessel of Your kindness bringing them help in their times of need.  You have asked me to “do unto others as I would have them do unto me” … I’m ready to answer that call.  You have shown me compassion in my afflictions … can I do any less for my fellow man?  My gift of kindness is a sign of my gratefulness for all You have done for me and my commitment to follow in Your footsteps.  In the same way that Your acts of kindness show me Your love … I must become an expression of that love poured out on others.  Kindness is not just an act … it is love in action … a decision to put others above myself.  My love must be sincere in the same way that Your love for me is sincere.  Because I am experiencing  these thoughts, I know that Your kindness is contagious.  And it’s in Jesus’ name I pray.  AMEN!!

Ephesians 4:32 Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving one another, just as Christ forgave you.
