My Precious Redeemer, fill me with a knowledge of Your will for me through spiritual wisdom and an understanding of Your words. My natural mind cannot always grasp Your message but, through the working of the Holy Spirit, Your perfect will can become clear to me. I want to grow in spiritual understanding, my ability to praise and honor You, the ability to bear good fruit, to increase in my knowledge of You and Your ways, to access Your power regularly, develop endurance and patience, become a vessel of joy and hope and be able to recognize and acknowledge Your many blessings and gifts. I want to thank You for opening my eyes to see my need for You. I am appreciative of the fact that You delivered me from darkness and shined a perpetual light into my heart. Through salvation, I have been admitted into Your kingdom and spared the final judgement of Hell forever.
I rejoice in the fact that You delivered my soul from Hell and offered me a new beginning. As a result, I am no longer a slave to sin and, instead, have been empowered to follow in Your footsteps. I am glad that I’ve been given forgiveness to replace guilt. I’m grateful that You rescued me from subjection to my fleshly passions and allowed me to submit to You as King. While You were a man in every aspect, You also were completely pure and holy in every way. It is You who created everything and that includes me. When I was conceived, You had a plan for my life. Therefore, my desire is to know and understand Your calling on my life. I come before You asking to open my heart and mind to accept Your purpose for my being here today. Just like You, as a young child, who went into the temple without Your parents so that You could be about Your Father’s work … that is my desire also.
Because of You I am protected and chaos is prevented from consuming my life. Since all life had its origins in You, I cannot live independent from Your will. I am Your servant and must rely on You for my care, sustenance, and protection. Because of Your esteemed place in Heaven, it is only right for me to give You first place in my thoughts and actions. Your coming has removed the power of sin to control my life and, instead, called me to align my ways with Yours. Originally, I was alienated from You and my thinking was in opposition to Yours. But now that I’ve given myself to You, I want my thinking to conform to Yours. I know that change is hard, ways of thinking are ingrained in me and my flesh wants me to rebel from You. However, in learning to become more like You each day, I know that all things are possible through You. And it’s in Jesus’ name I pray. AMEN!!
Colossians 1:9 For this reason, since the day we heard about you, we have not stopped praying for you and asking God to fill you with knowledge of His will through spiritual wisdom and understanding.
