Most Generous Lord, I greatly rejoice in Your concern for me and the opportunities where You show it. You have consistently supplied all my needs and taught me to be content in whatever circumstances I find myself. I have experienced times of plenty and times of need, but I have navigated them all successfully because I knew that You were with me. You have taught me to be satisfied even when I am not experiencing what I thought I should. You have also shown me the way out of every unfortunate situation that I face. I now understand that, in You, I am empowered to accomplish anything You ask of me. When my spirit sags, I must focus on Your promises and Your pledge to stand with me in all things. If I want more, I must ask You to remove the things that inhibit them. I must learn to accept that You know what is best for me.
I am encouraged to know that You share in all my troubles. To not be alone gives me the hope that good will prevail in my life. All that I do … I do because I love You. I do not do it for a reward … I do it because of my desire is to serve You. My life is filled with ample supply because You are watchful and want to meet my needs. I am learning to be more content with my life because I can see things from Your point of view. You are teaching me that my focus needs to be on what You say and not what I feel I should be doing. I must never omit thankfulness for all that You have given to me. I must separate myself from nonessentials so I can concentrate on what is important to You. When I do, it will open the storehouse of Heaven and I will reap Your goodness and love to the fullest. I need to recognize that if I want more or better possessions … I am looking for a way to fill an empty place in my life.
The way to Your goodness and love come through adopting Your perspectives, Your priorities and Your power. The goodness and love that I receive come from a close union with You which increases my faith and allows me to face the challenges that come from my commitment to You. Through my belief in You, I am empowered to accomplish anything that You ask of me. As I strive to become more like You, I understand that I will not be immune to trouble, pressures and trials. In You, I have the confidence that I will be able to overcome whatever difficulty I experience. As I become more generous to others in need, I know that You will reward me by supplying my needs. When I am generous for You, You will be generous to me. I do not give to get … I get because I give. Because You are generous and loving, I know that I can count on Your abundance in meeting my needs. And it’s in Jesus’ name I pray. AMEN!!
Psalm 23:6 Surely goodness and love will follow me all the days of my life and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever.
