You Are The Word

Most Loving Lord, I am so glad that the Holy Spirit, through the Apostle John, revealed so much about You to me. What is revealed is that You are inseparably tied to who You are … fully God and fully man. John explains that while You came as a human You never ceased to be the eternal God … Creator and Sustainer of all things. What I must not lose sight of is that You did not come into being when You were born, because You are eternal. In You was imbedded truth and You are truth. Knowing truth helps me build my faith and gives me confidence that You are the Son of God. John’s use of the “Word” to describe You explains that You were an agent of creation … the source of God’s message to His people … and the revelation of what God expects of me. As the source of all truth, if I do not trust in the truths revealed about you … I cannot have enough faith to trust You with my eternal destiny.

Your coming has given me an opportunity to see a light I had never experienced before. I am thankful that the darkness of evil has not been able to extinguish the light You came to show me. Your Word has become a lighthouse beacon in the middle of a fog created by the world that enables me to find a safe harbor. I can see my sins more clearly now and can begin to avoid the situations that lead me into them. I am now able to see the path that You set before me and, therefore, I can make better decisions on how to lead my life. Your Word shows me how unmanageable my life becomes if I try to live it without You. Additionally, if I try to live without You, I am abandoning the purpose for which I was made. It is through studying and meditating on Your Word that I gain wisdom and insights that will help me achieve a more prosperous life. If I allow Your words to guide me, I know I will not stumble in the darkness.

My time spent with You has taught me many things. If I want to know You more, I must spend more time in Your Word getting to know You. If I want to love You more, I must love Your Word more. If I want to be more like You, I must become a doer … and not just a hearer … of Your Word. If I want to speak more like You, I need to begin repeating Your Word. If I want the darkness to leave my life, I must fill it with the light that comes from Your Word. If I want to avoid sin, I must live in accordance with Your Word. If I want a road map on how to lead my life, I should open Your Word and follow the ways that it leads me. If I want to be healed, I must apply the healing balm of Your Word. Every word You speak resonates within my heart and calls me to be more like You. I have dedicated myself to learning everything You have to teach me because You are the Word. And it’s in Jesus’ name I pray. AMEN!!

John 1:1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
