Hope in Times of Distress

Hear my prayers, O Lord.  Let my cries for help come up to Your ears.  Do not remove Yourself from me for I am in great distress.  I know that if You hear my pleas, You will respond quickly to rescue me.  I am fragile and cannot keep from stumbling under the weight of my cross, so come to my aid.  I feel alone.  Fear and worry taunt me all day long.  My tears have become my drink and hopelessness my food.  I know that all power resides in You and Your wrath consumes whatever it is sent against.  My life is clothed in dread and I feel like the grass under a withering sun.  Confusion is my companion and doubt finds a place in my every thought.  Where have You gone, O Lord?  I feel separated from Your watchful gaze and I cannot feel Your reassuring touch.

I know that You reign over all things with loving kindness and unfathomable might.  You show Your compassion to Your own and come to their aid in times of need.  You show favor to those who love You and You are moved with pity when they are suffering.  The ungodly fear Your name, but the righteous revere it.  You are fair and just to both saints and sinners.  You are attentive to their pleadings and requests and You help them through their most trying times.  All power resides in You and You have numbered all of my days.  You possess both the will and the ability to help me achieve the dreams I never thought possible.  And Your grace is always available to help me achieve my highest potential.  All things change, but You remain the same.  Those who are called by Your name live to dwell in Your presence.

Because of Your Immaculate Heart, I will always be Yours.  My commitment and fidelity is to you alone.  I have confidence that whenever my world comes crashing down around me, You will rebuild it stronger than before.  In my most destitute and desperate times You will respond to my prayers and will restore all that I have lost.  Over the course of my life, You will help me to see my errors and failures so that I might find the way to sorrow and repentance.  If I hold any bad feelings toward another, You will help me shed those feelings when I surrender them to You.  I am thankful for being covered by the Blood of the Lamb and I will strive to never let His gift of life and prosperity be offered in vain.  You are my hope in times of distress and I thank You for every moment of life that You have given me and I ask You to help me live it to the fullest for You.  And it’s in Jesus’ name I pray.  AMEN!!
