Dear Hope of the World, it is You who has given me a life worth living and has assumed the role of guiding me toward a path filled with blessings and the means of overcoming my weaknesses. As I search for direction, what I need to do is examine Your example in order to learn how to handle adversity and find the better way. As I reflect on Your promises and instructions, I feel hopeful about my future and I walk confidently in the face of whatever stands before me. In the same way that You lived and died to give me hope, so must I strive to be an example of the good that comes to those who give their life to You. As I cling to You , I know that I will find the strength and ability to deal with a world filled with degenerate behaviors and false promises. My greatest desire is to be changed by You and walk in Your ways. If I can achieve this goal, I can become a light shining out to others who have needs.
My life experiences have shown me that, outside of You, there is no real, lasting hope for the future. You alone are my source of hope because through You I am able to … find safety in the midst of the storms that crop up in my life … find refuge from the pressures I feel … find security from the evil that is striving to form strongholds within me … find the way to prosperity and a better life … and, believe there is nothing in my life that cannot be overcome by Your grace and awesome power. When I think of Your involvement in my affairs, I feel content and confident that You will find a way to produce good no matter what circumstances I find myself. My wish is for the world to know You and the hope that comes from belonging to You. I believe that Your promises are certain and sure and, as a result, my hope soars to new heights. If others open their hearts to You, their lives too will be filled with joy and hope.
Through my belief in You, I expect deliverance from my weaknesses, challenges and problems. This is a hope worth striving for because of the joy and promise it brings. I am able to sense these emotions in spite of the troubles I am experiencing because they are based on Your power that goes beyond the limitations of earthly existence. Though I gain wealth, power and prestige, they are meaningless in Your eyes. What You are looking for from me is my dedication to You and faithful service to others. As others see my good works motivated by my love for You, they will see the benefits of a better way. A way filled with peace, joy, hope and contentment. My sincere desire is for You to so fill my life with peace, joy and trust so that they overflow onto others by the working of the Holy Spirit. In so doing, they will experience You as the hope of the world. And it’s in Jesus’ name I pray. AMEN!!
Ephesians 1:18 I pray also that the eyes of your understanding may be enlightened in order that you might know the hope to which He has called you, the riches of His glorious inheritance to the saints, and the incomparably great power for us who believe.
