My Blessed Assurance, I put my hope in You alone. Knowing that You are in control makes my choice very easy. Permanent relief from stress does not come when a problem is resolved because there are surely more on the way. True relief comes by placing the outcome into Your hands. Only then will I be able to believe that my trials will be resolved. You alone are My Rock and My Fortress who can protect me so that my faith will not be shaken. There are forces in the world who would rob me of the peace that only You can give. I cannot count on men to rescue me because they may bless me with their words but in their hearts, they only care about themselves. The only “true” rest I get comes from the assurance of Your love and the hope I have in living for You. I place my trust in You because whenever I need a refuge, You are there. You are my defense against evil and the trials of daily life.
In my most trying times, I cling to You because Your strong right hand will uphold me. When all seems lost, what gives me hope is the knowledge that Your love is better than anything I can imagine. I am only able to find satisfaction from knowing I have surrendered everything to You and You will cherish it and guard it like it was Your own … because it is. Protect me from the traps set out by the Evil One and those who would love to see me stumble in my walk for You. I give testimony to Your work in my life and I have felt You standing by me when I am vulnerable and unprepared for what is coming. Evil’s mission is to ambush me when I am unsuspecting and at my weakest. But those efforts are thwarted because Your eyes are ever upon me. I know I can count on You to guide me to a place of safety whenever danger looms. I give thanks that I never feel alone because You are with me.
Through prayer and time spent with You, I’m learning how to manage my stress. The connection I have with You makes all the difference in the way I look at life. No longer am I held captive to the yearnings of my flesh or the erroneous teachings of the world. When obstacles present themselves in my life, I do not panic because I know that in You all things are possible. When I can put my life, and the events therein, into Your hands nothing can rattle me. I am often tempted to judge people based on the power, prestige, and wealth they maintain. What Your Word teaches me is that power, prestige, and wealth add nothing to Your view of their importance. Your view of people is based on whether they trust their lives to You and accept the role You called them to fulfill. It is not what I accomplish based on the world’s standards, rather the work I do willingly for You. And it’s in Jesus’ name I pray. AMEN!!
