Most Wise God, within You lies all knowledge and wisdom. I need Your lamp of learning shining into the vast darkness of ignorance that is within me. Your light adds reason to my confusion and Your sound judgement calms my wavering fears. Enkindle within me a flame to help me embark on a meaningful search for Your truths and a better way. I want to fill my mind with Your words that can set me free and illuminate the deepest parts of my being. By joining with You, I know my life will be filled with Your promise of loving instruction. Through the things I learn from You, I know that my life will flourish, and I will be able to avoid trouble and heartache. As a pupil of the Holy Spirit, I will learn and grow. Shape me and form me into the person You intended when I was given life. My goal is to be a witness to Your saving power and bear fruit in my daily life.
Through the verses of the Scriptures, I am being nourished in ways that help me thrive and grow. The enlightenment I receive from reading Your Word motivates me to change and adapt to new ways of living. By turning to Your words for guidance, I am shown the ways of living righteously and I am provided with hope for tomorrow. Teach me how to search the words in the Bible to find the peace and safety I long for. I want to walk in harmony with You in everything that I say or do. With Your light shining before me, I know I will make better choices for my life and will be directed toward a path that produces abundance in my life. I am confident that Your lamp of learning will always be aglow with things I need to learn to become an overcomer. I feel enabled to envision the paths of righteousness in which You walk, and I can move with confidence, so I do not stumble.
When I was first drawn to You, I did not know much about You and needed a lot of training in Your ways. Through Your patient and loving hands, I have come to learn more about You and Your ways. As a result, I am a better person, and I am committed to doing things Your way. My flesh often steps in to try and take over my actions or words but, I know when I rely on You and the Holy Spirit, I can act and speak as You do. Even though I have learned a lot about how to live my life, I feel that however long I live there will be new truths and new lessons to learn and master so I can become more like You. When You open Your heart to me, Your expectation is that I will receive Your love, Your promises and Your commands with exuberance and a commitment to go all in for You. No matter how long I live, I will always need Your lamp of learning to guide me. And it’s in Jesus’ name I pray. AMEN!!
