O Merciful God, I believe that You love me. How do I know this? Because You laid down Your life to save mine. You confirmed the importance and personal nature of Your act when You said “no greater love does one have for another than to lay down his life for him.” In surrendering my life to You, I accept the fact that my life is no longer mine and I have a calling based on Your plan for my life. Help me seek You with all my heart so that I can become one with You and my life can come into conformity with Your perfect will. In seeking intimacy with You and longing for a deeper relationship, I know I will receive insights that will help direct my life. Your love tells me that You care about me and want to help supply my needs. Life is no longer filled with problems … rather, opportunities to overcome through Your wisdom and power. With You standing with me, I know I can withstand whatever comes my way.
In order to bask in Your goodness and remain in Your favor, I must learn to obey Your commands in order to show You how much I respect and love You. For in obeying, I lay aside self and place You first in my life. Prayer must become a vital and consistent part of my life. It is the way to keep the lines of communication open with You, learn from Your wisdom and share my struggles with You. I must also assimilate the Holy Spirit into my life and follow His leading. Through Him, I will be empowered to live up to the calling You’ve placed on my life. I must learn to trust Him as I have learned to trust You. He speaks the truth and walks with me throughout my day. I accept that my life will be a long journey, but it can be a successful trip if I acknowledge Your will and Your call on my life. I count on receiving Your Body and drinking Your Blood as Your acceptance of my invitation to reside in me perpetually.
Your promise to me, and all believers, is that if I seek You, then I shall find You. As I pursue a meaningful relationship with You, I can count on the fact that You will reveal more of Yourself to me and Your plans for my life. When I struggle with problems and my eyes fill with tears, I know You will be there to wipe them away, wrap Your arms around me and offer me the comfort I need. By making You My Lord, I open myself to receiving Your blessings of grace and mercy. The choice I’ve made is to come to You and leave behind fear, worry and my insecurities. I must view You as my source of hope … strength for my despair … the key that unlocks the shackles that hold me back … and the solution for all of my problems. Take away my shame, O Lord, and bring me to a place where I can freely give myself to You. Help me become a faithful servant as I seek You with all my heart. And it’s in Jesus’ name I pray. AMEN!!
