Lord, Your directions are always perfect, so guide me in the way that You want me to go. It is sometimes difficult to know the way I should proceed, but discovering the path that You want me to travel can be very liberating. As I move through life, I often find myself at strange intersections and in need Your Wisdom to know which way I should turn. When I am forced to detour, onto a path I do not know, I need clear directions. With You leading the way and providing me with the strength to endure, I trust I’ll be able to complete my journey. To be successful in finding my way, I must learn patience … with myself and those with whom I will travel. Help me to not be too proud to do a U-turn if I see I have gone in the wrong direction.
When I stand at a crossroad in my life, help me stop and look both ways before proceeding … discerning all dangers and obstacles … and, then moving out in the “right” direction. I know that in obedience, I will find calmness for my spirit. So help me submit my will to You and guide me in making “good” choices. If I am unsure about which option I should choose, show me through Your Word the choice I should make. The more I become familiar with Your Word, the better equipped I’ll be at reading the road signs that get me to my destination. I must also learn to never let go of Your hand, for if I let You lead me, the outcome will always work out for my good. I know that many of the decisions I face will need to be made quickly and that is why I need to always stay plugged in to You. As each day goes by, I am able to see more clearly the Holy Spirit preparing my heart and mind to receive Your instructions. I am confident that, if I go astray, You will lead me back to Yourself and get me back on track.
When my life is filled with struggles and my failures overtake me … how will I know the “right” choice to make? I feel like a blind man struggling to feel his way along. I seek for relief and direction. My weaknesses and shortcomings cloud my judgment and my apprehension. My fears and doubts surround me and I cannot escape their grasp. So hear my cries for mercy and deliverance. Take away the scales from my eyes and open my ears to hear Your voice. Lift me out of the pit and set my feet on a Solid Rock to give me a firm place to stand. Put a new song in my heart and make hope spring forth with new life. My yearning is to do Your will, so implant your desires within me. Make my ways, Your ways … my thoughts, Your thoughts… and, my race, Your race. I know that in my times of confusion and searching for answers, You will stand with me and point me in the “right” direction. With Your presence in my life and Your promise to guide me, I know I will be able to travel life’s path successfully. And it’s in Jesus’ name I pray. AMEN!!
