Who Do I Say I Am?

My Lord and My God, Your Word tells me that You are the Way, the Truth and the Life.  You came to show me that there is only one way to the Father, only one truth which is contained in the scriptures and only one way to experience unity with You.  You are the Lamb that was slain to take away my sins.  You are My Redeemer who died so that I might have eternal life.  Through Your sacrifice, You unselfishly offered Yourself as the price for giving me a new chance to have an abundant and everlasting life.  There was nothing I could do to save myself, so You stepped up in my place to set me free from the grasp of sin, death and Hell.  You are The Bread of Life who satisfies my spiritual hunger through a relationship with You.  I am sustained by the partaking of Your Body and Blood.  As my Bridegroom, You have pledged both Your love and fidelity to me and Your church who are Your bride.

You are the Alpha and Omega … the First and the Last … the One who was and is and always will be.  You are the Ruler of the past, present and future.  Without You there would be no eternity … nothing could change my life … and, nothing could save me from sin and myself.  You are the Light of the World that shines into the darkness illuminating it because the darkness cannot hide from You.  Your light shines in me too … guiding in paths of righteousness, giving me hope and keeping me from harm.  You are the Vine and I am a branch who draws my strength and nourishment from You.  As I become more a part of You, I will be more fruitful in my life.  You are the Cornerstone on which Your church and my life are built.  You hold me up when I lack strength and You are always there for me.  You are the Good Shepherd and I’ve learned to distinguish Your voice and heed Your commands.  Because of Your commitment to me, I know that I’m safe from danger and being lead to a place where I can find rest.

You are My Shield and Buckler who guards me both night and day.  You keep me safe from the attacks of my enemies and my own foolishness.  When You speak to me, You only speak what is true and the truth shields me from deception, worldly thinking and my own misguided thoughts.  You are The Great Physician who provides healing for my mind, spirit and body.  You bore stripes upon Your body so I could be set free from illness, disease and mental anguish.  In You, I am made whole again.  In You, I find an escape from my struggles, worries and fears.  When I draw near to You, calmness and peace surround me and quiet my apprehensiveness.  Through Your love and encouragement, I’ve become more than a conqueror … I abound in abundance … and, every obstacle placed before me is cast aside because my faith is rooted and grounded in You.  You are so many “I Am(s)” to me, My Lord, and I cherish them all.  And it’s in Jesus’ name I pray.  AMEN!!

Exodus 3:14-15 God said to Moses, “I AM WHO I AM … This is my name forever, the name by which I am to be remembered from generation to generation.”
