You Restored My Life

My Blessed Lord, I remember how joy-filled and uplifted I felt after asking You to take control of my life. It renewed me and made me feel much more assured about my future. Things were made new … my perspective, what I felt, the fresh start I was receiving and finally standing for something. This all occurred because You are in the restoration business. You specialize in taking broken lives, broken dreams, and even broken bodies, and bringing about restoration in them. You not only breathe new life into people, but new hope also. When I feel like giving up on one of Your promises to be fulfilled, I persevere knowing that my trust in You will be restored and hope will replace my doubt. I believe that You can do all things … restore my body when I am sick … restore my thinking when I get depressed … and restore my joy when I am sad.

I believe it is Your desire to restore the things in my life which have been lost, stolen, or broken. I know that You alone possess the power to pick up the broken pieces of my life and make it whole again. When I am sad over lost opportunities, You can breathe new life into them and I will get a fresh start. I know that I can count on Your unfailing love and ability to rescue me. Like a Shepherd, who watches over His sheep, You cause me to lay down and rest, lead me to peace in my circumstances and restore my outlook. You have come into my life to comfort me and put back together the broken pieces of my life. You speak to me through Your own words, other believers, and Your Word to keep me strong and moving down the path You have made for me. Your goal for me is to become completely satisfied and complete in who I am in You.

I count on Your faithfulness to deliver on Your promises. I am appreciative for Your coming into my life and restoring it. I know that You have a calling on my life and, through the restorative work You have done in me, I want to respond to that calling. Changes in the way I lead my life do not occur because I wanted them to change, it is because I have allowed You to change them. My life’s goal is to cooperate with You in putting my life in order so I can better serve You. It is You that has removed the roadblocks inhibiting my path forward and freed me from the stress that comes through the upheavals that I face. Restore me with joy so I can live in the happiness, fulfillment, and contentment that comes from being in You. Through You, that which was lost has been found, what was broken has been put back together and my way forward has been made clear. And it’s in Jesus’ name I pray. AMEN!!

Joel 2:25-26 I will repay you for the years the locust have eaten – You will have plenty to eat until you are full, and you will praise the name of the Lord who has worked wonders for you; never again will my people be shamed.
