O God of Wisdom, as a Christian I am called to be conformed into Your image and likeness. As a servant, I accept Your authority over the forces of darkness and Your power to heal the wounded and deliver slaves from bondage. I understand that my connection to You has put me in the line of fire from all sides by the forces of evil who will try to knock me off my stride. When evil has established strongholds in my life, I must confront them and rely on Your power to cast them out into the darkness from which they came. I must be willing to leave my rebelliousness behind and come into Your Kingdom with a desire to obey Your commands and serve Your people. In You, I have found the freedom that has released me from bondage and given me the hope for a better life. Place in me a new heart so that I will always want to answer Your call.
If I truly belong to You, when You call, I want to willingly come to Your throne and submit myself to Your service. To become more responsive, I ask that You open my ears Lord so I can recognize Your voice and know exactly what You want me to do. Open my mind and renew it so I can assimilate Your teachings and ways so that the ways of the world will become strange to me. Open my heart Lord so I will develop a stronger connection to You and a tenderness for Your people. Place within me a spirit of service to others and a willingness to give up my desires so I can satisfy the needs of others. I feel very blessed to have been given the privilege of recognizing Your coming and being able to accept You and Your Word as my pathway to Heaven. Having You in my life gives me hope for a better life and an ability to be conformed to Your likeness.
Help me shed my rebellious spirit. The one that makes me think I am better off without You. The one that thinks my ways are better than Yours and my views are more righteous than Yours. My rebelliousness puts me at odds with You and makes me an enemy of Your Kingdom. I am now seeing that belonging to the Kingdom of Darkness offers confusion, feelings of guilt, an insatiable appetite to fulfill the yearnings of my flesh, and a depraved mind. I also can now see that the Kingdom of Light offers me a renewed mind filled with good thoughts and righteous ways … clarity in my path forward … joy over being completely forgiven … and freedom from worldly yearnings and ways. My life has become so much better since I have decided to conform my ways to Your ways. And it’s in Jesus’ name I pray. AMEN!!
Psalm 25:4-5 Show me Your ways, O Lord, teach me Your paths; guide me in Your truth and teach me, for You are God and my Savior, and my hope is in You all day long.
