O Just and Mighty God, I am blessed to know that I have favor with You. You have made me Your own and paid the price to claim me from my captives … Sin and Death. You have restored my life and given me hope for my future. My desolation has been turned into a flourishing oasis. You have led me out of darkness into the light so I could see more clearly the path You’ve set out for me. You have turned my mourning into laughter and satisfied my hunger and thirst for righteousness. No longer am I tormented by my enemies for You have given me strength and taught me how to resist them. When I am exhausted, You lead me to a place of rest and contemplation. You have turned my towering stack of problems into a level plain of solutions. I cling to You, like the woman with the issue of blood, because all of the answers I need can only be found in You.
I rejoice because You have comforted me with Your love and shown me compassion. I now have the confidence that You will stand by me in whatever I face. And I can imagine a smile on Your face as You beam with pride over the strides I’ve made in combating evil. Because You have given me life, I know You will never forsake or abandon me. You have put an indelible mark on my soul and I am forever Yours. You’ve delivered me from poverty and made me rich … when I was lost, You came to find me … when life seemed hopeless, You gave me a reason to live … and, when I floundered, You steadied me. You have filled me with faith so I can become a warrior in the “good fight of faith”. You have opened my eyes to see Your blessings and Your impact on my life. You are everywhere, beckoning me to come up higher … asking me to stretch to reach Your goals … and making me comfortable with Your plans.
Though I’ve failed You, made my life a wasteland and laid my future desolate due to sin, You overcame it all through the perfect sacrifice of Yourself. You’ve expanded my heart so I could receive more of You. You’ve broadened my understanding so I could learn to walk in Your ways. You have infused my spirit with eternal life. You have borne me with much pain, cared for me with tenderness and been patient as I’ve stumbled through life. You have disciplined me when I’ve done wrong and You’ve come to retrieve me when I’ve gone astray. You’ve given me Your name so I can stand before my enemies and reap the benefits of being an heir. Life has been so much better since I turned my back on the world and joined with You. I know that You have only just begun Your work of restoration in my life and I’m looking forward to seeing the finished product. And it’s in Jesus’ name I pray. AMEN!!
