Holy are You, O God, for Your ways are pure and never contradict Your laws. Help me be faithful in keeping Your commands and seeking Your truth with all of my heart. Your precepts were given to me so I could obey them and reap a harvest for my life. I know that I can keep my life spotless if I live in accordance with Your Word. I must diligently follow Your instructions so that I do not stray from Your love and covering. If I study Your Word and store it in my heart, I will not sin against You. Teach me Your ways so that they become second nature and I am not lured by the same stumbling blocks again and again. As I meditate on Your words and contemplate Your ways, they will become lamps unto my feet guiding me in paths of righteousness. As my will is reshaped to become more like Yours, it will become easier for me to detect the deceptions of my enemies and the lustful yearnings of my flesh. Open my eyes to enable me to see the wonders of Your Kingdom and walk boldly in Your ways.
I know that because of Your abundant love … You will rebuke me when I stray from Your precepts and principles. I have come to understand that Your Word is not a shackle holding me captive … rather the key that sets me free. When I accept the fact that Your Word is not my enemy, I find delight in knowing and walking in its teachings. As I have made a place for Your Word in my life, You have shown me Your graciousness and upheld me in my times of need. Instead of constraining me, it has taught me how to work out my salvation, find a way to forgiveness and shown me how to avoid sin. By living Your way, I’m free to be a “servant” of all. Help me increase in knowledge and good judgement so I can walk uprightly before You. In the past, I’ve been afflicted and downtrodden because I rebelled and would not obey, but You have shown me Your kindness and mercy so I would repent.
You are good and all You do is good. That is why I want You to teach me how to put Your Word to work in my life. I understand that taking up my cross and following You are parts of this learning process. Through my afflictions, I will gain a better understanding of the healing that takes place when Your Word becomes a part of my life. It is You who formed me in my mother’s womb … who knows me intimately … and, is familiar with my intricate make-up. Send forth Your Spirit to tutor me in the ways that lead to a “victorious” life. I believe that everything You say is true and I use Your truths to build a strong foundation for my life. As I learn more about You through my study of Your Word, I am finding comfort in what I learn. As I meditate on Your Word … fear, worry and doubt are pushed aside and I see more clearly the calling You’ve made on my life. I rejoice in the fact that I found You and have Your Word to show me my way. And it’s in Jesus’ name I pray. AMEN!!
Psalm 119:105-106 Your Word is a lamp to my feet and a light for my path. I have taken an oath and confirm it, that I will follow Your righteous laws.
