Most Precious Redeemer, I rejoice in the fact that both You and Your love are present in Your Word. I have seen many things in my life, but none compare to what I’ve learned from reading Your Word. As I spend more time reading and meditating on it, I am learning how to distinguish Your voice which gives me the confidence to act on what I hear. Through internalizing Your Word, I have been able to become closer to You and Your desires. In sharing the Holy Spirit with me, You’ve opened my eyes to see and understand truths that have had the power to free me from the bindings of self and evil. Open my eyes so I can see You more clearly … open my ears that I might hear every Word that You speak … open my mind that I can receive all You have to share with me. As I become more intimate with Your Word, I am discovering the pathway to overcoming … prospering … and living a good life.
As I take my place at Your feet, yearning to hear what You have to share with me, I know that I will grow in Godly Wisdom. Teach me the way to become poor in spirit that I might bask in the fullness of Your Kingdom. Help me open my heart to You so I can be a recipient of Your comfort and strength. Show me the way to become meek and mild so that I do not become proud and haughty. Satisfy my hunger and thirst for righteousness that I might experience the awe of Your holiness and purity. Guide me in the ways of mercy so that I practice giving it out without hesitation. Show me the way to purity so I can learn to walk in it and please you more. Help me overcome anger, strife and resentment and replace them with Your love so I can dispense peace and understanding. When I suffer for Your sake, help me take it like a man and strengthen me so I can turn the other cheek.
Before You came into my life and it was filled with Your light, my eyes had not seen … nor my ears heard … the things that You had prepared for me when You called me to life. In Your words, I find promises of a better life filled with peace, hope and joy. When pain and sorrow come to weigh me down, I find You near through the words of the scriptures. When my faith is weak and I’m about to stumble under the weight of my burdens, it is Your words that lift me up and bear me up on Your shoulders. If I struggle with problems and adversity, it is Your words of comfort and encouragement that make the impossible seem possible and the heaviness become light. When I look at my circumstances through eyes of faith, I am always filled with hope and perseverance to get me through the darkest of times. I am so thankful for the life-giving infusion of Your words. And it’s in Jesus’ name I pray. AMEN!!
