Most Loving Lord, I know that You created me and have promised to care for me all my days. Your love is so enduring it will care for me my entire earthly lifetime, even into eternity. I trust that because You gave life to me You will put forth the effort to sustain me and go so far as carrying me if I need it. When I need You to rescue me from danger, I know I can count on You. There is no God who cares for His people better than You. You intervene on my behalf when I need You. You also watch over me so that my weaknesses are not exploited. When my load becomes heavy You lift it upon Your broad shoulders. When I face a situation that will crush me, I watch as You push it aside. When trouble finds me, I know that I can count on a helping hand from You. When I am tempted to pursue pleasure, comfort, and security apart from You, I must remember that I belong to You and You will take care of needs.
When adversity rains down on me, be my covering. When loneliness creeps in wanting to become my companion, come to me with words of encouragement and understanding. When I feel darkness closing in from every side, let Your light shine into my life to show me the way forward. When I am confounded by my circumstances, send me Your wisdom to help me determine a solution that fits. When I start to feel sorry for myself, remind me of all that You went through to free me from the power of sin and open the gates of Heaven for me. When I feel selfish, instruct me how to live unselfishly giving of myself to others. When I have much, help me to give. When I have little, help me accept what I am offered. When I am sad, fill me with Your joy. When I can see no solution to a problem, show me that there is nothing impossible that You cannot do. I am thankful that there is no need I have that You cannot meet.
When there is no one who will help or intervene for me You have always been there. It is Your goodness and love that sustains me each day. At night when I lie down to sleep and then I awake in the morning, it is You who allows me to rest, and it is Your power that sustains me throughout my day. Sleep does not come easy when I am in crisis, but knowing You are there calms my soul. Your Word tells me to “cast my cares on the Lord and He will sustain You; He will never let the righteous fall.” I really believe that You want me to give my cares to You when they become a burden to me. To do that I must realize that that Your support has no limitations. Your standing by my side assures me that You will provide what I need when I need it. These are the many reasons why I welcome Your sustaining kindness. And it’s in Jesus’ name I pray. AMEN!!
Isaiah 46:4 Even to your old age and gray hairs I am He who will sustain you. I have made you and I will carry you; I will sustain you and will rescue you.
