My Faithful Protector, You are my Rock and the Refuge in whom I trust. When the storms of life move in, I always turn to You for shelter. When my spirit is low, You have the ability to lift me up and give me hope. You have bourn my burdens and lightened my load. You have made Your light shine into my darkness so I can see my way forward. I always feel safe knowing that You have me safely in Your hands. I recognize that You keep evil at bay so that my chances of growing into Your likeness are enhanced. There is no need in my life that goes unmet. I no longer experience fear and worry when things do not go my way. You have been faithful to me in every way and I feel safely tucked under Your wings. When anything comes to do me harm, You are like a shield deflecting their attacks and protecting my heart, mind and body. You have placed a hedge to protect me from the evil one.
I am so glad that I have built my life on the solid rock that You and Your word represent. No better foundation can be laid than the one You provide. The thinking of men shifts about like sand, but You are constant and solid in all Your ways. With You by my side, I feel supported and all things will work together for my good. In life troubles seem to abound, but You always help me deal with them or show me how to maneuver around them. It is consoling to know that you will be with me in all things, supporting me in whatever I face. It is in the light that You shine down on my every move that shows me the better way. My desire is to become more like the person You are. I want to be like a rock for those who count on me – being dependable and faithful like You have been to me. You are an immovable object in my life holding me up against all kinds of influences.
Who is like You I ask myself? The answer is clear … there is no one like You in all the earth. You are my strength when I am weak. You are my wisdom when I am confused and need a solution to a problem. When I retreat, You follow after me. When I sin, Your blood washes me clean. When I am selfish, You show me the meaning of generosity. When I judge others, You remind me that it is not my place to judge. As with a small child, You let me walk on my own, but Your hand is always there to catch me in case I start to fall. You do not insist that I do what You say, but You allow me to learn from the “school of hard knocks” that Your ways are the best. I never feel alone because You always keep the lines of communication open for me when I want to talk. You are my Rock and Refuge in whom I place all my trust. And it’s in Jesus’ name I pray. AMEN!!
Psalm 94:22 But the Lord has become my Fortress and, my God, the Rock in whom I take refuge.
